Oh, the days of high school. Regardless of someone’s age, a lot of people remember their teenage years like it was just yesterday, and can still feel their younger-selves inside.
A Minnesota mom named Kari too will never forget her time in high school. She has fond memories of dancing, selling corn, and getting her hair done by her good friend…Christopher Hopkins! That’s right, Kari was lucky enough to go to school with The Makeover Guy himself and they’re friends to this day.
However, it had been 16 long years since they’d seen each other when she walked into his Minneapolis salon – and Kari wasn’t looking like her teenage-self anymore. Christopher was determined to work his magic to help transform his friend into the girl he used to know!
We all have people from our past that we’ll never forget. For Kari and Christopher, they were good buddies who had a lot of fun together.
Apparently, The Makeover Guy would do Kari’s hair and makeup before she went on dates, and even for her class picture. Can you imagine that? Kari shared a photo of teen Christopher’s masterpiece work.
Kari’s just a farm girl at heart that wasn’t looking to do anything drastic. That meant bold hair colors were out the window!
She’d gotten perms in the past, but believed they were causing her hair not to grow (or it was menopause). Christopher too noticed that Kari’s hair was disproportionate, yet, explained that it’s a common thing. What he wanted to do was make it full again.
Many women deal with frustrating hair issues during their lifetime, especially as they age. According to Harvard Health Publishing:
“About one-third of women experience hair loss (alopecia) at some time in their lives; among postmenopausal women, as many as two-thirds suffer hair thinning or bald spots.”
Not everyone likes to put tons of time into their beauty routine. Christopher’s old high school friend is one of them.
Kari, who was recently divorced, didn’t do much with her hair besides occasionally curl it or throw it up with a clip. That’s why she wanted a look that would be “manageable,” and also make her feel good about herself. But again, not too crazy!
Would Christopher be successful in turning back the hands of time on Kari?
The Makeover Guy expressed on YouTube:
“It took me all day to get Kari back to the girl I knew.”
Kari, actually, looks like a completely different person with her new look! Christopher managed to make her hair full, bouncy, and a beautiful shade of blonde.
And what makeover would be complete without makeup? The farm girl looks glamorous after she was done over in that department too. In fact, she looks like years have been lifted off of her appearance and you can see the teenage-side in her again.

Kari was stunned at first seeing herself in the mirror. She absolutely loved her new look and said she felt “giddy” and 25.
Fans online have also been amazed by the fabulous results. Many believe that Kari resembles the classic Hollywood star, Doris Day!
But Christopher wasn’t done with his high school buddy yet. After the makeover, he invited her to the dance floor to cut a rug like they used to. It goes to show that even as you age – you never really lose that youngster inside!
