Children have favorite heroes to look up to and, unlike what one might think, these heroes are more often than not everyday people who just make their day. It could be their favorite teacher, the garbage collector, or the mailman.
The latter, in fact, has more superhero qualities than you could ever imagine.
Have you ever thought that mailmen actually have no place to go to the bathroom during the day? Holding it for so many hours is nothing short of amsuper power, right?
Also, did you know that the USPS Carrier Alert Program actually has mailmen check on the people whose houses they visit when they do their rounds? By visiting the same neighborhood over and over again, they get to learn the residents’ routines and, consequently, are able to know when something is not quite right.
Well, if that’s not what superheroes do, then we don’t know what is.
And, of course, mailmen have their own special day, as they should! Have you ever heard that February 4th is dedicated to the men and women of the postal service? Well, now you know.
So, next time you see the mailman, please be kind, they are doing hard work and they should be recognized for that.
But, besides the hardships of the job, mailmen also have fans that just can’t imagine beginning their day without them. Just like this little girl whose video dancing with the mailman went viral a few weeks ago.

So, here’s the thing. Chiropractor and photographer Dr. David, has a young daughter who loves dancing with her favorite person, the mailman, every morning.
Simon Ian, a professional athlete and mailman, does the rounds in David’s neighborhood every day, and at some point, he noticed there was a little girl at the window looking at him. So, he decided to do something about it. He had to brighten up her day during these uncertain times.
While this coronavirus pandemic and the measures that governments around the world have taken in order to control it have brought us apart – hopefully for a short time-, some people have found ways to fight it.
Mailman Ian is one of those people. More specifically, the man has established a routine with Dr. David’s daughter and they perform it every single day.
As the girl’s dad captured on camera, the girl starts dancing on the couch when she sees the mailman, and he does the same thing. The two of them dance as if nobody’s watching for a while, until the man decides it’s time to go. The little girl goes on dancing even after he’s left and it seems that her day has started in the best way possible.
Although Ian does the silly dance with the girl just to make her day, and he wasn’t doing it for fans, he has now gone viral after the video was posted on social media.
The comments on Instagram revealed that Ian is not only kind to the little girl, but to everyone in the neighborhood, even the family pets.
“He makes sure to always give our dog a treat when he stops by,” someone wrote. “He’s the best!”
