A child’s first dance recital is a very magical thing. It is one of those memories that you don’t really forget… It is something that the child and their parents will take with them for the rest of their life. Even if it seems silly later on, it’s still a beloved memory. It helped that dance recitals often come with adorable costumes too — like bumblebees, butterflies, or in this case, penguins.

A young girl named Ellen had her first dance recital back in May 2008 and luckily, it was all recorded for our enjoyment! The person recording the whole thing — we are assuming one of her parents — was probably feeling so proud of their little girl as they sat behind the camera.

Ellen’s parents also want to make sure that we know which dancer is their child, which makes it even more adorable.

“Ellen is the tallest penguin and is in the front row, far right,” they say at the very beginning of the video.

When the performance begins, Ellen and all of her fellow dancers waddle out to the stage as if they were actual penguins. They are all dressed up in penguin suits and lean and waddle from side to side. Just a few seconds in and they are already nailing the penguin stance!

Their penguin costumes are black and white and come paired with matching black top hats and glittery red accents. So cute and classy!

They all successfully make it out to the stage and line up how they are supposed to. When the song kicks in, they bop along. For the most part, they are pretty in sync and all manage to spin and jump altogether at the same time.

They all hop along the stage together, first moving to stage left as one big group. They move with such grace for such tiny dancers, too!

Then they hop back to the center of the stage and carry on with their adorable performance, which clocks in at about three minutes.

They wave their arms up over their heads, hop off the ground, crouch on the ground, and jump a lot. Then they all form a circle together where they hold hands and spin around. It’s actually pretty impressive, they are totally nailing it!

Plus, it’s nice to see all of these young children work together and support one another to put on a seamless performance.

As you can guess, the dance is all about penguins. The group of dancers certainly make that clear with their waddling and the way they move together in unison!

It’s also important to note that Ellen is clearly a seasoned professional. She seems to be a true start who really knows what she’s doing. We can see why her parents are so proud!

Her parents probably weren’t expecting so many people to watch their child’s first dance recital but the video has actually earned almost 100k views. Not too shabby for a young girl who is just starting out!

We have to say this is pretty impressive for such young talent! And it takes a lot of courage to get up on stage, too. Tons of respect out to these little ladies who truly did their best!

Everyone in the comment section is in agreement that it is adorable, too. “Wow Ellen you didn’t miss a beat!!! That was amazing, little lady, you should be very proud of yourself,” one person wrote.
