This family isn’t regular customers only for their food but primarily for their excellent service.

A service so remarkable that their 8-year-old son found a friend in one of the restaurant’s servers.

Devonte Gardner always has a smile on his face the moment you enter Waffle House.

He greets customers with joy, radiating to everyone coming in.

He is always ready to serve with a smile, converse with patrons, and is a friend to all.

That’s how he and Kayzen became friends.

Kayzen loves Devonte because he’s an overall nice guy.

The little guy loved his favorite server’s positive attitude and how he made everyone’s day because of his great service.

However, despite all those smiles, Devonte had his fair share of struggles.

Devonte was saving to buy a family car but had to use that money for something more important.

His family moved out of their apartment because of mold infestation, which also got his daughters sick.

He had to give up his car savings for their medication and find a new place to move in.

Since it would take time, they settled for living in a motel that cost $60 a day.

Most of the tips he earned for the day, he pays for their motel room.

As a dedicated husband and father, Devonte wants to give all he earns to give his family food and shelter, even if it means letting go of that dream car.

His hard work paid off after ten months when they finally moved into a two-bedroom apartment.

Still, he had to save more money because rent doesn’t come cheap, and he still wanted to be able to afford a house for his family.

Kayzen learned about Devonte’s situation and knew he had to do something about it.

He wanted to help his friend, so he set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds for Devonte.

Korey and Vittoria supported their son’s plan because they knew Kayzen only wanted to help a friend in need.

His initial target was $5,000 to at least help with their family’s expenses, but the Hunters did not expect what happened a month after.

The donations reached more than $113,000! People were inspired by this act of kindness from an 8-year-old.

Since Devonte and his family already moved to an apartment, Kayzen thought they would spend the donations making his dream come true: buy a family car.

The two buddies went to a car dealer to choose the perfect car and even went for test drives.

After testing out multiple cars, Devonte picked out the one he liked.

He couldn’t believe that it was happening and that he was a recipient of all that positivity – from Kayzen and all the people who donated.

What can I say? What you give sure has a way of coming back to you in seven folds. Devonte certainly deserved all this.

Korey and Vittoria said the kindness wouldn’t end there.
