A wonderful little girl in northern Idaho has a heart of gold — she is on a mission to pay off her school district’s lunch debt.

At only 6-years-old, Amiah Van Hill was too young to get a real job, so, she decided to take matters into her own hands and set up a ‘business’ of her own — a lemonade stand.

She wanted to help her schoolmates, and other students she’d never met, pay off their school lunch account debt. It was such a selfless and compassionate thought.

Amiah named her stand ‘Lemonade 4 Lunch’ and immediately got to work. All of the profits would go to her city’s school district.

This wasn’t her first go-round at earning money to pay off school lunch debt. Just prior to setting up Lemonade 4 Lunch, Amiah made $40 while selling lemonade. It was enough to pay off some debt in her local city of Hayden, Idaho.

After seeing what her $40 could accomplish, this is when she became inspired and set a new goal — she wants to raise $23,000.

Her $23,000 goal would pay off the entire school lunch debt for the district.

So, what inspired Amiah to start that first $40-earning stand? Apparently, her mom told her a story about a man named John Lew in Seattle who raised $50,000 for his state’s lunch debt using a crowdfunding site. She wanted to do the same thing.

“And I wanted to do the same thing except start a lemonade stand because I don’t know what GoFundMe is,” she adorably tells Inside Edition.

To help Amiah meet her lofty goal, her mom helped her set up a GoFundMe account in addition to her successful lemonade stand. So far, the fundraising efforts have earned Amiah over $13,000 of her goal — over half of the district’s debt.

Her GoFundMe account has been shared over 1,000 times and is quickly gaining attention all across the internet.

Amiah might only be in the first years of elementary school, but she is a beautiful soul that has the compassion and kindness that many people could only wish for. Her efforts will help hundreds of families in her area.

Amiah’s generous efforts are inspiring others to do the same. Her full story and interview are below — hopefully, it will inspire you too.
