This is one of those instances where a "little" goes a very long way. This landlord is a keeper.

We all know how the pandemic affected all of us. Some lost their jobs, some lost a loved one, and some are battling mental health issues.

Some dealt with it differently than others.

Based on a report conducted by Escholarship, 1,493 homeless people lost their lives on the streets of L.A. during the pandemic.

The number of employees losing jobs is drastically increasing. Without a stable job, we are at risk of being homeless.

We have to admit that it has been hard trying to make ends meet. Paying rent on time may mean fewer meals on our table.

It’s a reality many are facing.

This is the second year that we will face the holidays with this pandemic. All of us are still trying to survive and hope that someday we will go back to normal.

As of now, eating a complete meal, having a job, and paying our bills are things to be grateful for. As they always have been, just magnified.

But there’s a world of good news.

We’ve seen the news about kind-hearted landlords who decided not to increase the rent.

However, some landlords believe that they are running a business and that it’s just right to ask for payment on time.

This tweet might change their mind.

Now, last November 30, 2021, Twitter user @baycheyann posted a tweet that went viral. Today, the tweet has 24.6k Retweets, 6,459 Quote tweets, and 529.9k likes.

The said tweet contains a screenshot of a text sent by the uploader’s landlord.

It was a thoughtful note.

In the text, the ‘landlord Zach told her that he would cut off $200 this month off their rent.

“Spoil those babies, buy a few extra sides for Thanksgiving or just reduce some financial stress,” the landlord added.

The landlord even said that it may not be much, but as a landlord, he wanted to show his appreciation to the girls renting his apartment.

Getting a $200 discount is a big deal.

You can use this as an additional budget for Christmas dinner or just to pay other bills.

Twitter user @chelseyemoeller replied and uploaded her own screenshot that read:

“Happy Thanksgiving to you guys. My wife and I want to have you guys only pay $600 for the month of December. That way you can spend more on the little one for the holidays.”

It showed another landlord’s generous and kind-hearted act of giving a discount.

The people who had seen the posts couldn’t believe it. These landlords thought of giving discounts to their tenants.

A light in the dark.

They know the hardships we are all facing, and for some, a few hundred dollars may be a small amount, but for those working multiple jobs, or those who have lost their jobs, this is a big blessing.

Aside from the generous act, these tenants have felt they are a family. The landlords, like their parents, are there for them and caring and giving.

A gift worth more than money.

Showing you care doesn’t have to be a grand act. If it is from your heart, then you know you’re doing the right thing.
