The mother had to take on so much to deal with the circumstances. Prior to the diagnosis, Yuko had never even driven.

What made it even harder for Yuko was the fact that she was still getting used to America. Yuko is Japanese. She is still learning English.

Despite her circumstances, Yuko found a way to support her husband and kids. She got a job as a janitor at a school and worked hard.

Sadly, Mark’s health didn’t improve, and he passed away, leaving Yuko and their nine children.

The people at the school were amazed by Yuko’s work ethic. Even though she was grieving and having to support a huge family, she remained a dedicated employee.

Luckily, in 2020, someone nominated Yuko to be a recipient of East Idaho News’s Secret Santa.

When the news team heard Yuko’s story, they knew that they had to help out.

Before she opened the gift, Yuko insisted that the news team would tell the secret Santa thank you on her behalf.

Then Yuko opened the box and couldn’t believe what was inside.

It was a check for $1,000.

When the presenter announced how much money this check was for, the schoolkids all screamed with joy.

Yuko was so stunned that she couldn’t speak.

Then the presenter announced that there was a final gift.

But Yuko was still struggling to speak. By now she was on the verge of tears.

She opened the final box to see a car key.
