Boxers are a truly adorable dog breed. These big pups are very affectionate and love being with their humans.
Many Boxers have gone viral online for their adorable antics, and it’s easy to see why.
Boxers are really just big babies.
In fact, according to Simply For Dogs, “They have absolutely no idea that they’re too big to be lap dogs, so if you’re going to get in a panic when you end up with 70 or so pounds of dog in your lap, kissing your face, then the Boxer might not be the right breed for you.”
So when we came across a video titled, “Boxer dog interrupts teaching lesson,” we were intrigued – but not at all surprised.
The video was shared on YouTube by Deanne Bourke, and it now has over 3 million views. The woman, who we’re assuming is Deanne, is reading a book to her class when Archie the Boxer just can’t resist demanding attention.
As Deanne begins to read, Archie hops up onto the couch and sticks his face right up close to his mom’s.
He can see that her attention is preoccupied with something else, and it simply isn’t good enough. He’s the center of her world, isn’t he?
Deanne attempts to remain professional and ignores Archie’s personal space invasion, continuing on with the book. But Archie isn’t done just quite yet.
The needy boxer then begins to tap his mom’s arm with his paw. When this doesn’t work, he switches to tapping the book, in the hopes that she will turn her attention to him. He seems very confused as to why his mom isn’t giving him any attention.
Maybe she just hasn’t noticed him yet? He’ll have to try a little harder.
As Archie continues his attempts to win over his mom’s attention, we can’t help being reminded of a needy child.
In fact, he looks so human-like sitting up on the couch next to his mom, wearing a sullen expression, that we can’t help but laugh!
Eventually, Archie’s attempts are enough to distract Deanne from her book, and she explains to her listeners:
“You can see that Archie is being very naughty this morning. He is wanting attention, and he’s actually sitting on the couch, when he’s not allowed to be. I’m not sure what’s going on with Archie today!”
Poor Archie just can’t understand why his mom would rather sit and read a book out loud to her laptop, over giving him some attention. He knows which one he would rather be doing.
Despite Archie bringing an element of unprofessionalism to Deanne’s lesson, we’re sure that the kids absolutely loved him!
And while the needy dog got given no attention when his mom was on the video call, we’d like to think that he was given lots of love and cuddles once the call was done.
It’s so funny to watch Archie with his mom, and we’re sure her students got a kick out of the Boxer. During a tough year, he certainly provided a bright spot.
