Marriage is one of the most beautiful things in the whole wide world. It’s two people who love each other coming together to commit for life. What’s more magical than that?

While marriage is certainly a beautiful thing, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t come with any problems though. You can have problems after just two years of marriage or after 20 years of marriage. There’s no time limit on it, and it doesn’t mean that your marriage is over. It just might mean that the two partners need to listen to each other more.

There are certain things that can help when a couple is going through a rough patch too, like try couple’s therapy. It is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of!

We have a story of a husband and wife who went through a situation like this and it ended up to be pretty hilarious actually.

These two, Joshua and Carrie, were married for 37 years when they finally decided to try couple’s therapy. Just goes to show that you’re never too deep in a relationship to try it.

During their first session the therapist asked the couple what the problem was. Carrie had a plethora of issues to list off: she felt lonely, empty, neglected, unloved and unlovable. She also communicated that there was a lack of intimacy.

Carrie basically had a whole laundry list of complaints. It turns out, she was actually going through a lot of pain thanks to Joshua. And all of these feelings were being felt over the last couple years of their marriage. Years! That ain’t a short period of time.

The therapist really let Carrie talk out all of her harbored up frustrations.

But when she was done, the therapist got up and made a super risky move.

The therapist got up, made his way around his desk, and asked Carrie to stand up. Once she did, the therapist took her into his arms and held her passionately as he gave her the most sensual kiss. It was a moment that felt like forever as Joshua simply sat to the side and watched it all happen. With a raised eyebrow of course.

The therapist and his client shared the lengthy, fiery kiss — something that Carrie longed for, after being neglected for so long in her own marriage.

After the shocking moment, Carrie sat back down in astonishment. She wasn’t complaining anymore. Instead, she was just silent. And, well, shocked!

It turns out that the therapist was trying to make a point here with that risque action.

“This is what your wife needs at least three times a week. Can you do this?” The therapist said to the very shocked Joshua.

The therapist thought he had it all figured out. He thought his point was made very well. He assumed his message was clear and a lesson had been learned.

But the lesson wasn’t grasped quite as well as he had hoped.

Her husband replied: “Well, I can drop her off here on Mondays and Wednesdays, but on Fridays I fish.”

How could the therapist ever expect a reaction like this?! Talk about the lesson flying over someone’s head!

While the response was hilarious for a funny story, in real life, we’d say this spells disaster. Counseling isn’t going to cut it. It might be better for the wife to find someone a bit less dense to share forever with!
