A lot of us love heading out to garage sales. Especially since you might come home with the ultimate treasure.
The challenge comes in knowing which houses have the best finds.
Of course, you can scan things from the street or even get out of your car to walk around.
But some people have come up with the brilliant idea of using hilarious and clever signs to attract bargain hunters.
You’ll see what we mean with the 14 laugh-out-loud garage sale signs below!
1. A sale and a show
Here’s a garage sale for people who love adventure.
You’ll probably find some pretty interesting items.
At the same time, you’ll get to watch Grandma put on a show.
2. Every woman’s dream
Well, for every woman who wants to buy great clothes and shoes, that is.
For the cheating girlfriends, not so much.
Here’s to hoping the gal doesn’t show up because if she does, things are going to get very interesting.
3. Sale or pickup line
Either way, this is creepy.
Especially with actor Ryan Gosling’s face drawn on it.
What do you want to bet that no women showed up?
4. Bringing in an 80’s classic
All you movie buffs know it’s a clever spin on a line from The Princess Bride.
“My name is Inigo Montoya … Prepare to buy!”
Surely a lot of passersby got a chuckle out of it too.
5. Pirate humor
Why go to a yard sale when you can visit a “yarr sale?”
Who knows, it could be the perfect place to find a genuine treasure…
Or in the least, an old stuffed parrot.
6. Real talk
This individual was kind enough to let the public know that they wouldn’t be handling a deceased person’s things.
Whether it helped or not is another story.
7. That’s impressive
If the person holding this garage sale has an endorsement from the “most interesting man in the world,” you can’t go wrong.
That’s pretty powerful.
Hopefully, they live up to people’s expectations.
8. An early start
I mean, is there really ever a bad time of the year to clean out your junk?
Especially, if it means we garage sailers can buy it!
But his sign is quite hilarious.
9. Playing with fire
Either this man is really clever at marketing his garage sale or he’s hoping for a divorce.
If it’s marketing, his wife is going to be in for a big shock.
This is one of those times you’d love to be a fly on the wall.
10. Great idea, poor execution
Sure, some people might think this sign is super clever.
And in some ways, it is.
But there’s something about a stick figure with one leg hanging from a rope that doesn’t make this garage sale seem very inviting.
11. Just one question…
… did it work?
Hopefully, they had good enough stuff that you’d want to “treat yo self” with.
No doubt it caught the eye of all the Parks and Recreation fans!
12. So innovative
A wife asked her husband if he’d make her a couple of garage sale signs.
So, he did.
“Great job, honey.”
13. Hello?
These people must be huge Lionel Richie fans, or at least of his hit song, “Hello.”
You gotta admit, it is pretty clever!
14. Honesty is the best policy
That is unless you’re having a garage sale.
Putting up a sign like this might discourage shoppers.
So, in this case, lying is acceptable.
Weren’t these garage sale signs hilarious?
