Helene Fischer was born in Krasnoyarsk, Russia.
At the age of 3, she emigrated to West Germany with her parents and sister. After her graduation, she attended the Frankfurt Stage & Musical School. While studying, she was able to perform at the Staatstheater Darmstadt.
Her on-stage debut happened in 2005 when she appeared in a TV program. There, she performed a duet with Florian Silbereisen.
Her first English-language album was released in 2010. It felt like a dream for her.
She said:
“I have always dreamed of singing my songs in another language. English is the language of Country, the music that we call ‘Schlager’. Language is a tool, but it is important that what you sing comes from the heart β and that is what this album is about.”
Even though English wasn’t Helene’s first language, she didn’t have a hard time singing Hallelujah. In fact, she delivered it perfectly. It would have made Leonard Cohen proud to see her perform live.
