When a couple plans to marry, one of the things on their wedding checklist is selecting the bridesmaids and groomsmen. This is a really important task, as they’re the people who’ll be helping out on the big day. So, choose wisely!
It’s common for the wedding party to be there as the bride and groom get ready beforehand. But what isn’t so common is for a groomsman to approach the altar with a lint roller… That would just be weird, right?
Believe it or not, that’s what happened at a recent wedding, and the moments that followed had the guests cracking up.
Wedding ceremonies are usually pretty serious. However, that doesn’t mean that funny things can’t happen sometimes.
There are videos all over the internet of comical moments from weddings. A lot of times a flower girl or ring bearer is involved, and there’s some sort of adorable mishap. Who can forget the flower girl who decided to take a rest at the end of the aisle?
In this case, it’s a grownup who lightened up the ceremony with a pre-planned joke.
A wedding almost wouldn’t seem right without the groom getting picked on by his buddies a little bit. Typically though, this happens during the reception and not when the couple is at the altar!
The clip begins with the bride and groom kneeling down. A vocalist is singing, music is playing, and everything seems just right…
Then a guy approaches them with a lint roller.
Now, we’re not sure if he’s the best man or a plain groomsman – but apparently, he cares a great deal about the groom’s appearance! He starts rolling the tool over the groom’s jacket to get him looking nice.
Perhaps he’s just taking his role very seriously?
The best man can help the groom out in lots of ways – from planning a bachelor party to assisting him in getting dressed. On The Knot’s website, they define a best man as:
“…the groom’s right-hand man (or woman) at the wedding. Usually a close friend or relative, this person is asked to stand by the groom’s side to support and assist in any way possible before and during the wedding.”
Hilariously, the guy even uses the lint roller on the back of the groom’s legs.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve never seen anyone “delint” their buddy’s pants at a wedding before. Talk about a good friend!
He’s not done yet…
The guy then takes a pocket square out of his tuxedo. As you might have noticed, the groom has a bald head – so he decides to help him shine it up!
He begins by breathing on the back of his friend’s head to help get it super shiny.
The guy starts polishing the groom’s head with the pocket square, causing a wave of laughter.
One viewer wrote:
“What a cool best man 😇😁😎”
After the groom’s head is polished he turns to leave.
Luckily, it shows the groom laughing after the funny joke. Another viewer commented:
“You know youre best friends when you can do shinanegans like this at your friend’s wedding.”
Weddings are supposed to be filled with unforgettable moments. This is one that the couple and guests will certainly always remember.
