Josh DeShong owes his entire career to his mother’s love and support. The least he could do was give her her dream home. Her reaction says it all.
Josh grew up without his father. Luckily, his mother was there for him every step of the way.
Josh explained:
“You know growing up, my mom raised me as a single parent. And I honestly was a pretty troubled youth.”
Unfortunately, Josh fell into a bad crowd. But his mom knew that he had a good heart. She tried everything to get him back onto a good path.
Most people doubted that Josh would amount to much. But not his mom.
Eventually, Josh started to listen to his mom’s advice, and he pursued a career in real estate.
Once more, the naysayers said that Josh would mess this up, just like everything else. Yet his mom believed in him. She knew that with the right encouragement, he could finally make a success of himself.
And she was right. Josh found that he had a knack for improving and selling houses. In no time at all, he was making a tidy profit.
10 years later, Josh was still thriving. But his mom had fallen upon hard times.
Within the space of six months, her own mother and sister passed away.
“But I got into real estate with the intent to provide for my family but also be able to give back.” – Josh DeSong said in a video shared by Caters Clips.
So he purchased a run-down home. He knew that he could make it into something special.
But he wasn’t going to flip this home when it was done. He was going to give it to the one person who had never given up on him.
At first, he told his mom that she could stay there for a little while, when it was done.
When the renovation was complete, he told his mom that he wanted to give her a tour of the home. He didn’t tell her that it was her home yet.
Josh’s mom stepped into the house and was impressed.
She could see that her son had indeed come a long way. The floor was a beautiful dark hardwood. And she loved the color of the walls.
In fact, she even declared that it was the best house ever.
She must have thought that whoever ended up in this home was going to be very happy indeed.
Then, as the mom was admiring the granite countertops in the kitchen, Josh started to announce something important to her.
He told her that she never had to move out of the home.
She didn’t quite get what he was saying yet and asked how long she could stay. He said that she could stay forever.
Then it hit her.
Soon, she started crying, and she gave Josh a hug.
She couldn’t believe that her son had done this for her.
Luckily, Josh recorded the announcement.
