Street dogs have the tendency to smell bad, especially when the street grime and icky stuff gets onto their fur coats. That is why, people would react badly towards them, sometimes as terrible as throwing rocks at them just to drive them away. However, it was different for this street dog when a kind heart happened to pass by him in the middle of the night.

It was midnight when someone happened to stumble across a stinky pooch during her walk back home. Instead of shooing the poor dog away, the person knew that she could not just leave the dog alone considering its awful state.

Thus, she acted as a Good Samaritan and called a local groomer that she knew and then notified her about the situation. Luckily, the groomer responded even in the middle of the night. Besides, that particular groomer was known for giving aid to stray animals.

The dog was instantly brought to the groomer’s house and then started to work for the makeover.

Kari Falla, the owner of the dog grooming salon called BGE Grooming in Seminole County, Florida, did not hesitate to accept the request from her friend, and for free! She took the dog into her grooming salon and prepared the necessary things to tidy the dog from whatever was sticking on her fur.

Falla first examined the dog’s fur and she saw mud, poo, and dirt all mixed on the dog’s coat. The dog was literally covered with them. The dog’s coat was long and matted; moreover, she was infested with fleas. However, it did not faze Falla one bit; instead, it motivated her to help the dog.

The groomer tried her hardest to transform the pooch, and she did!

It was already past midnight but Falla insisted on grooming the poor pooch. She knew that she could not let her suffer from that until sunrise, so she started running the razor to cut the excess, untidy fur.

The dog was surprisingly calm the whole time, and she noticed that the dog was actually blind and deaf. With that knowledge, she was even more surprised as to how the dog managed to live in the streets alone. The razor and her scissors managed to snip every inch of unwanted hair off the dog’s body and then bathed her. 3 am, and the once stinky pooch transformed into an adorable, sweet-natured pup.

The groomer can’t let the dog roam the streets again, so she decided to help her find a new home.

Falla gave the dog a name, Lucky, as she knew the name is a perfect fit for her. She then checked to see if the dog had a microchip but found none. Everything she did would be useless if she would release Lucky back in the streets so she helped the dog find a new home.

A foster family gladly took her in before she could finally find a ‘furever’ home for herself. Lucky felt all the love and affection that she deserves.

Unlike cats, dogs have little to no way of getting the smell and dirt off from their fur. Thus, grooming them manually is important for them, especially when you want to keep them tidy all the time. Besides, you do not want their fur full of debris and things that make them smelly. Moreover, grooming tremendously helps them to be healthy and happy.
