Groom Walks Away From Bride In Middle Of Wedding Ceremony
That was quite the stunt he pulled.

There are two general kinds of couples when it comes to wedding planning – the ones that don’t want to mess with tradition and the ones who like to keep things interesting.

Whether it was a surprise or not to the bride, the guests at Megan and Adam’s wedding got a good laugh out of the groom’s mid-ceremony stunt.

All is well, until…

It was a big wedding. And it was looking pretty straightforward for a while there.

The 5 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen were standing by on stage as the bride and groom exchanged their vows.

Everyone was lined up symmetrically, making for a nice, neat photo and video. That is until the officiant asked one simple question.

Consulting with the crew

Part of a groomsman’s job is to be there for their friend or relative on the big day. And that can involve anything from running errands interference to giving them the support they need while they make one of the biggest decisions of their life.

And it turns out Adam needed a consult.

As the officiant asked if he took this woman to be his wife, he paused. Then he walked away!

Don’t worry, he wasn’t a runaway groom. He never left the stage.

Adam is a sports coach in his spare time, so he knows the value of teamwork when things get tough.

So he did what all coaches do when they need to make a big call – he asked his guys to huddle up. And they did!

The reaction

There were nervous murmurs at first. And that’s understandable when a bride or groom turns away from the other at the altar.

But it seems Megan knew what he was up to (though we’re not sure she was warned first). She begins to laugh as her bridesmaids look at each other nervously.

Once the men are in a full huddle formation, the guests begin to laugh. They see what’s going on here – and that it’s all just a show – a cute gesture to pay homage to his buddies and his love of sports.

Of course, not everyone could pull this off.

“Its funny, I wouldn’t have wanted to do it at my wedding, but if it fits his persona, more power to him,” remarked one commenter.

Happily ever after

It sure does take a while – at least we think 10 seconds would feel like a long time if you were the bride.

And after your groom pulls a stunt like this, who knows what’s coming next?

Luckily, they’re all in agreement. It’s a go!

They’ve planned out Adam’s next move, which is to answer in the affirmative and he heads back to the alter.

Without any drama, Adam says “yeah, I do” to the officiant’s question and everyone laughs with relief.

And while the reaction at the venue was one of great humor, not everyone who’s seen the video got a kick out of it.

“Even joking that one is not certain and celebrating the other, is kinda cruel,” said one viewer.

Of course, they were reminded that it was a lighthearted joke and told to “get over it.”

The bride seemed ok with it, and that’s what’s important.
