Jeff Althoff and his fiancé Jenna spent ages planning their wedding.
Like most couples, they wanted it to be the perfect day. Jenna painstakingly picked out the perfect dress, a form-fitting number with lots of ruffles. While Jeff ran through his list of buddies to get his groomsmen in place. Finally, after ages of preparation, the beginning of March marked their big day.
Little did Jenna know, however, Jeff had a been planning a big surprise.
In a heartwarming video viewed tens of millions of times on various websites, you see Jeff surprising Jenna by telling her they’ve officially become a family of three.
Now, most couples usually wait a bit before they start adding to the family unit, but Jeff was so excited, he just had to get it done. At the beginning of the video, he tells the camera: “Later tonight, I will be presenting Jenna with the wedding gift of her dreams.”
During the wedding reception, while everyone is celebrating the big day, Jeff grabs hold of the mic to make his big announcement.
He begins by making a little speech: “We’d like to thank each and every one of you for coming out and celebrating our big day.”
“I’m a little bit nervous up here right now because I’m about to give Jenna a big surprise, but she doesn’t know that.”
Guiding his new wife to the front of the room, he tells her he’s gotten her a wedding gift that is completely for her.
“I’ve heard a few rumbles and a few jokes about it along the way… No, it’s not hunting or fishing related,” he assures her.
“It’s everything you want.”
Here’s where things start to get fun. Turning to his bride, Jeff asks:
“Would you agree with me that the last few hours have been the best hours of our life as a family of two?”
“Well, I’m proud to announce that we have now become a family of three.”
At first, Jenna’s eyes bulge out of her head. She wears a look that screams, ‘What the heck is going on?”
When Jeff points in the distance behind her, everything suddenly makes sense. Then, before you know it, Jenna is breaking down in tears.
Since being uploaded to YouTube, Jeff’s video has been viewed millions of times.
Most viewers initially though Jeff had secretly gotten Jenna pregnant, but rest assured that’s not the case.
“Her initial reaction was ‘Did he adopt a child?'”
“Her reaction to him saying ‘We have become a family of three’ was so funny like, ‘I think I’d know if I was pregnant.'”
“I thought he was going to somehow tell her he managed to get her pregnant without her knowing.”
