Jenna and Jeff’s wedding video begins with the groom announcing to viewers that he’s going to be surprising his bride later that day.
And, frankly, we can’t help but wonder why people do these sorts of things are already-stressful events. But at least his idea is adorable.
A big gift
Jeff explains to his groomsmen that he plans to present Jenna with “the wedding gift of her dreams” at the reception.
We don’t hear what the surprise is at first – we have to wait until Jenna hears about it.
But he lets the gents in on the secret as the camera cuts to the women gathering for their group photos in another part of the venue.
The big day
By all accounts, it was a stunning wedding.
We get to see a flash to the ceremony and the big kiss before we move off to the festivities later that day.
Other than the big surprise, the wedding had all the trappings of a traditional affair.
We had no doubt there was plenty of dancing, but we only got to see the first bride and groom have their first dance, which looked pretty special.
Jenna still has no idea what she’s in for though.
On to the reception
Everyone knows that unless you’re in the wedding party or family, the speeches are the most boring part of the wedding. But it’s ok, you’re getting a free meal and dance party, so those of us who have some dignity sit patiently and watch.
Jeff, however, didn’t want his speech to be boring. So after alloing everyone to agree that Jenna was the most beautiful bride, he moved on to what could potentially have been a very awkward moment, nothing that he had a wedding gift for his new wife that was just for her.
Interest piqued.
As as we all know, bridesmaids often have the most honest reactions to things at wedding because they forget they’re being photographed, so keep an eye on the bridesmaid at the very end. She already looks like she’s thinking “oh no, don’t make this weird, dude.”
Then Jeff gets to the part of the speech that you could argue should have been framed better. Then again, you could definitely argue that he said it perfectly.
After all, he did elicit these looks from the bride and bridesmaid.
That’s because he announced that the last two hours were going to be the only ones spent as a family of two.
A family of three
But what the heck, right? Like, is this really the time to bring up a long lost child?
Did he sneak in a pregnancy test Jenna didn’t know about? (Guys, that’s never ok, in case it needs to be said.)
No.
Jeff beckoned in the one thing that is missing from almost all weddings and the only thing guaranteed to make even the best day brighter – a puppy!
Jenna can’t believe it, but her bridesmaid is the real comedy gold here.
And while we don’t know if a brand new puppy is the right thing to invite to a party with thumping music, bright lights, and lots of strangers, it seemed to go just fine.
In fact, the video of their Minnesota wedding quickly went viral for the cute factor.
Jenna took her gift with love and gratitude. It appears she had always wanted a dog.
Jeff managed to pull off the wedding surprise perfectly.
