Growing old isn’t easy. Apart from the physical changes, one has to worry about losing a loved one, developing illnesses, and experiencing feelings of loneliness and isolation.
A grandma from Florida has one less thing to worry about.
A lot of older people worry about where they’ll be staying once they retire. Some choose to live alone while others are forced to live in nursing homes. Well, not Grandma Bobbe.
At 87-years-old, GB won’t have to spend her remaining years in solitude.
Her doting grandson has been working hard to make it possible for them to live together. However, it was only recently that he shared the big news with his beloved grandma.
Matt asked her GB for a car ride.
Since the two go on a lot of car rides, the cool grandma thought it was just another regular. She was surprised when they parked in front of a house that’s still under construction. There, Matt broke the news.
It’s their future home!
Matt said to his GB:
“Your sitting room’s gonna be up front right there, and then you’re gonna have a bedroom in the back.”
At first, grandma was shocked.
But as Matt continued, she felt super happy and excited about the idea. Matt told her about the details of the house, particularly her bathroom.
He said that she’ll have a high toilet as well as a stand-up shower. Of course, since she’s quite old, he’s making sure the shower will come with a bench. He’s carefully planning everything to make sure his beloved grandma isn’t just happy but safe and healthy in their new home.
Grandma was so overwhelmed.
After hearing her grandson’s plan for her and their new home, tears fell from her eyes. She was touched by Matt’s gesture and the idea that someone actually wants her.
Matt shared:
“We have a very close relationship and love each other very much.”
Matt grew up with his grandparents.
For him, he feels that his grandmother is more like a mother to him. He spent most of his childhood with his grandparents and that’s why he considers them to be a really awesome team and it shows. Seeing them together, the strength of their bond and love for each other is truly heartwarming.
In a post, he said:
“It meant the world to be able to show her our new home! I can not wait to actually move in to it and have her with us! I know we are all VERY excited. She was there for me in the past for the toughest time of my life and now I get to take care of her in the final years of her life. I’m very blessed! 🤗.”
Matt and GB are quite popular on social media.

GB is excited about the new house.
However, she’ll have to wait until January before they can move in. Nonetheless, she said she’s already packed and super ready to go.
To reassure GB, Matt said:
“It’ll be here before you know it. You’ll be living with us. It’ll be our happy little family.”
