Joeli was just a baby when she went viral for having a full-on conversation with her grandpa Steve in baby jibberish
Back in 2014, Joeli was just beginning to find her voice when she went to a restaurant with her grandpa Steve. While sitting in the booth, the grandpa started having a funny conversation with his granddaughter that was all caught on video.
As soon as she hears her grandpa’s voice, Joeli’s ears perk up and she responds with some precious grunts that are typical of babies. The topic of the conversation is funny, but the baby’s ability to respond is the best part.
“Well no, I don’t think so…’cause you just never know when it could go down. And then what happens then? Right?” Grandpa Steve says.

Joeli’s mother, Melissa, who posted the video to Youtube, spilled the beans on what her daughter and father were plotting in video’s caption.
“Joeli and Grandpa Steve sound like they’re plotting to rob a bank,” she writes on YouTube.

The plotting between grandpa and granddaughter goes on for over a minute
Joeli is so intrigued by the words coming out of her grandpa’s mouth, she stares at him in a trance every time he speaks. Every time he takes a break from talking, the infant responds by attempting to string some words together herself.
According to Parents.com, babbling is an important part of a child’s growth.
“Babbling is an important milestone because it represents the beginning of real communication when a baby starts experimenting with sounds, listening for a reaction, responding, and building social relationships,” says Sherry Artemenko, who is a speech-language pathologist and founder of Play on Words.

She lets out one last flurry of adorable baby babbles as the video comes to a close. Mellisa had no idea the video would blow up when she posted it to YouTube, but it certainly took on a life of its own. She continues to post funny videos of Joeli, but none have gone viral like the one with grandpa Steve.
People all over the world have watched the video of Joeli and her grandpa “plotting to rob a bank,” the video spread like wildfire across the internet.

There’s nothing more precious than a grandfather with his new granddaughter, especially when they have a bond and understanding like these two.
