Genevieve Musci (known as “Gee/Gramma”) and Arlene Cody Bashnett (known as “Ginga”) are sisters. Gee was 106 years old and Ginga is 102 years old. More on that later. What you need to know is that these two sisters are well loved by the internet.
Aging has its perks. Experience and wisdom are priceless, but with old age comes a lot of quirks. Memory loss, mood swings, and just random silliness happen and fortunately for us, it was caught on video.
Gramma and Ginga have a joint YouTube channel where they post comedic videos and it truly is hilarious.
They have 438 thousand followers and this video alone has over 1.5 million views. The sisters are stars and have an enormous following. The secret of their success? They like to bicker.
Gee takes the front seat with her sister behind her. As they both talk over each other, Gee suddenly reached over to Ginga with some money in her hand and tells her to take it. “What’s that for?” Ginga asks, confused. “Take it, I’ll tell ya later what it’s for,” Gee responds.
It’s typical sibling behavior and this goes on and on.
A lady is driving and she’s just giggling at her two elderly passengers. I’m assuming she’s family since she looks to be so used to what’s going on.
The argument is pretty random and it sounds like the elderly sisters are fighting over hotdogs. Ginga seemed to have paid for a whole lot of hotdogs and Gramma wants to pay her back. Ginga is refusing to take the money though.
The lady behind the wheel goes,
“You went and got all the hot dogs.”
To which Ginga responds with,
“Well, so what? I don’t give a shit. Don’t you all buy me stuff to eat?”
The woman driving says “Not very often” trying her best to control herself.
In the midst of the argument, Ginga suddenly talks about napkins. Apparently, she stole lots of napkins from a place they visited earlier and she wanted to get some more. While this was going on, she’s holding napkins in her hand.
Then, the woman says she needs to get gas. Yet another topic ripe for an argument. Ginga says it’s more expensive at the station they just pulled in to but the woman says it’s alright as she’s paying for the gas.
From hotdogs, to napkins, then gas.
A viewer commented saying,
“Despite their bickering, at the end of the day, they are still family, nobody’s taking advantage financially, everybody is sharing resources. Although it’s quite obvious that Ginga is the patient, bubbly one while Gramma always means business.”
There’s love in those sisters’ voices if you listen well.
