You’re never too old to do what excites you in life.

Too often, we hold ourselves back. We come up with all sorts of excuses about why we should not do something new.

One of the most common excuses people offer themselves is age.

So many people will say that they cannot or won’t do something because they feel they are ‘too old’ or ‘too young and not ready yet.’

The reality is, you are ready for whatever challenges life gives you.

That means that you can also take up whatever adventure excites you.

You should say “yes” to whatever you want to do, and enjoy life while you still can.

Angela Johnson has been living in the New Orleans area for most of her life, but she had never seen it like this.

Born in New York City in the 1920s, she moved to New Orleans after World War Two.

By now, she’s spent so much time in the area that you would think she had seen it all.

But before she turned 100, she decided that she wanted to mark the occasion in an adventurous way.

She wanted to ride a zip line over the swamps and bayous she spent so much time around.

Although many people might that this is an extreme sport for someone at her age, she wanted the challenge and wasn’t too scared.

When she knew she wanted to celebrate her centennial this way, she knew who to call.

Zip NOLA is a zipline company that promises to take customers on a fresh and exciting tour through some pretty incredible swamps.

Guests have the chance to see some incredible nature: everything from cypress trees to armadillos and even alligators!

The zip line was a great opportunity to check out Louisiana’s incredible nature from a new perspective.

Louisiana is known for its gorgeous swamps and bayous. But while most people might take a boat ride down them, not as many people have a chance to see the bird’s eye view of these places.

Angela took time during her zip line to pause at the top and take in the scene below her.

She looks utterly thrilled and shocked at what she sees, as well as a little apprehensive about the height.

Would you know how to react to seeing something in a completely new way for the first time in 100 years?

She gathered her family together for this great adventure.

Angela has lived most of her life in Louisiana, and it’s also where she’s chosen to raise her family.

Now, there are multiple generations of her family who live close to her: daughters, grandchildren, and even six great-grandchildren!

They all joined her on her birthday for the zip-lining trip.

Angela proves that nothing has to hold you back in life, and she leads by example.

Wouldn’t it be incredible to always live life to the fullest regardless of how old you are?

It’s pretty impressive that someone at Angela’s age wanted to do something so extreme. She should be an example to us all.

In addition to having fun, she has great life advice that we should all take more seriously.

So what’s Angela’s secret?

According to Southern Living, she said:

“Do not take life too seriously…You don’t make a big thing out of little things…Your health is an everyday thing. Use it. Enjoy it.”
