Since the coronavirus pandemic started, live sports and other events have had to be canceled or postponed until it felt safe again to return to stadiums and sports arenas, or until ways were found to organize them under different conditions.

Indeed, we have seen soccer matches without viewers on-site, but with sounds of excited fans in the background giving you the illusion that nothing has changed. We have seen empty seats, but we have also seen virtual audiences. We have watched live events being carried out in ways we never thought it would be possible- or even necessary.

Similarly, dance shows and competitions have had to be postponed earlier this year, but lately they have been trying to get back as a way to remind us that this “new normal” is possible and feasible.

One of those competitions is the KAR Dance Competition in San Gabriel, California.

“We strive to continue to bring you the service and quality you expect, even if it may look a little different than it has in the past. As cities and states begin to share plans to reopen, we would like to share an update on our current situation and let you know how we are planning for the future,” they write on their website.

The competition took place in late July. It is a dance event that aims at helping new talent be acknowledged, while they appreciate the efforts of parents, teachers, and choreographers who are helping young dancers to realize their dreams.

When the song starts playing, she immediately gets into it and starts dancing showing no signs of hesitance or doubt. She knows exactly what she’s doing and it is obvious she has been training hard all this time.

It is not only her dance moves that are to-the-point and executed with grace, but also her facial expressions that prove she is not just dancing for the sake of it, but really feeling the music deep inside her.
