The world is not always a friendly place to live in, especially if you are a woman.

Younger and older women alike are often harassed or abused not only in private, but also in public places. The saddest thing of all is that bystanders tend to just look and don’t ever seem to react or help the victim.
Or this was the case until some time ago. Thankfully, it feels like things are gradually starting to change for the better, and women start to feel that someone has their back.

One of these things that made us say “at last” was the invention of the Angel Shot, which has come to help us if we go on a date and the other person doesn’t end up being who we thought they were.
Recently, an incident that happened at a Starbucks in Corpus Christi, Texas, came to prove that people just don’t sit back and watch when someone’s being harassed. Rather, they now take action.
A few days ago, an 18-year-old girl was at her local Starbucks, having a drink and studying, when a stranger entered the coffee place and approached her.

It seems that the man was interested in finding out what she was studying, and he wanted to know more about it. In this process, he must have become quite loud, which just didn’t make sense to the barista who was observing them.
“She was sitting at her table alone, studying,” Brandy Roberson, the girl’s mom said, “and this man came by, and noticed what she was studying and wanted to talk to her about it. He became really animated and kind of loud about it.”

The next thing she knew, was the barista getting to her table and handing her a cup of extra hot chocolate.
He told her that it was a drink that nobody had claimed, so she could just have it. When the 18-year-old took the cup in her hands, she immediately knew that it was all orchestrated in order to make her feel safe.

Indeed, there was a secret message written on the cup that read:
“Are you okay? Do you want us to intervene? If you do, take the lid off the cup.”
The girl must have let out a sigh of relief knowing that she was not alone in this, although she did feel okay at that moment and not threatened by the stranger that had approached her.

When the man realized what was going on, he started asking what the problem was, and then, eventually, he left the place without any more drama.
When the girl got home, she showed her mother the cup, and narrated the story. Her mom was really happy to find out that there was someone out there who kept an eye on her daughter, ready to intervene if she needed them to.

Roberson posted a photo of the cup on social media, along with the story in order to thank them for taking care of her daughter. The post went viral, and we hope that it inspires more people to act like this in similar situations.
