Jackie from Columbus, Ohio is a former model who had years of being noticed in her line of work.
However, as she was nearing her 83rd birthday – that was no longer the case. In fact, she felt she’d become “invisible” with age.
While a lot of people might just call it “part of life,” Jackie decided to do something bold for herself instead. She booked an appointment at The Makeover Guy’s salon in Minneapolis hoping to be transformed back into a beautiful woman who didn’t go unseen by others. As we know, The Makeover Guy (aka Christopher Hopkins) is a person who’s capable of producing amazing results.
Life had been hard for Jackie over the last several years.
The grandmother had dealt with a string of heartbreaking situations that would have taken its toll on most anyone. First, she explained that she and her husband divorced after a 56-year marriage. Jackie then took care of him during his last few years of life while he dealt with Alzheimer’s. And if that all doesn’t sound difficult enough – she also fell into financial issues and had a year of being estranged from one of her sons and grandkids.
Jackie was definitely ready for some positivity. During her interview, she shared:
“I’m just here to self-indulge and have a freshening up.”
Although Jackie felt invisible, it wasn’t always that way.
She had spent a long time in the modeling industry, with experience working both as a model and an agent. Needless to say, she’d grown accustomed to being “noticed.” But as she aged, all of it started to change.
“…I’ve become invisible and I don’t particularly like that feeling. I think I’m moderately attractive and I’d like to freshen up and be noticed again.”
Jackie had put thought into what she wanted to see.
Like many of The Makeover Guy’s clients, Jackie still had a youthful spark glowing inside of her. Yet, although she wanted to look good on the outside – she also didn’t want to “overdo it.”
“I don’t want to see an old woman who’s trying to look like a 25-year-old. I feel 35 inside, but I don’t want to overdo it, I want age-appropriate but attractive.”
