She’s traded the Hollywood spotlight for the serene beauty of Tennessee’s open skies.
Reflecting on her move, she remarked:
“I am just loving the fact that my Christmas movie characters have rubbed off on me. I think it’s just a wonderful example of life imitating art.”
While most remember her for her role opposite Fred Savage’s Kevin Arnold, Danica has since worn many hats.
She’s not just an actress but also a mathematics writer and an educational advocate.

Her recent roles include characters in several Hallmark movies.
These films often depict a city dweller who visits a small town, falls in love, and decides to stay.
Life imitated art for Danica in this regard.
Her real-life love story with her husband, lawyer Scott Sveslovsky, mirrors those Hallmark plots.
The couple, though not originally from Tennessee, shared a memorable weekend in Nashville while still dating.
Danica was filming in Kentucky at the time, and the two decided to meet in the middle.
That weekend left such an impression that when the time came, choosing Nashville as their home was a no-brainer.
Another factor that influenced their decision was the vibrant entertainment scene in Tennessee.
“Memphis and Nashville are both entertainment cities. They’re known for music,” Danica pointed out.
“Being from L.A. and being an entertainer, it’s nice to have creative people around.”
So, in 2022, Danica, along with Scott, their son Draco, and her mother Mahalia, packed their bags and moved to Nashville.
The city welcomed them with open arms, offering the perfect mix of nature, family, and art.
And for someone from Los Angeles, the vast expanses of backyard space were a delightful bonus.
Danica’s excitement about her new home is palpable.
She gushed about her backyard trampoline, saying:
“I jump on that thing all the time.”
While there are plans for a pool, she’s content with the fun she’s having for now.
And in true Hallmark fashion, she hosted a Thanksgiving dinner for her family in their new home, even contemplating setting up the Christmas tree before the holiday.
The McKellar family has truly found their haven in Nashville.
Danica is now focused on turning their house into a dream home.
The family is eager to explore more of their new city and immerse themselves in its culture.
