Youth Football Team Flips Over Jeep To Save Couple

June 4th, 2018

The Boise Black Knights, a Boise, Idaho youth football team, knows a lot about teamwork.

And they recently applied the knowledge that they learned out on the field to help save a couple’s life.

They were on their way home from winning a National Championship in San Jose, California when they came across a terrible accident.

A red Jeep had flipped over on the Oregon highway trapping ejecting a man from the car and trapping a woman inside.

The team’s 13-year-old players hopped out of two vans to go see if they could help.

“We were all driving, they came around the corner and seen an accident with a car rolled over, and the two vans pulled over,” Coach Rudy Jackson said in an interview with ABC News.

“Me right now talking about it, I’m getting emotional. Because I’ve watched these boys grow. And they came a long way. They’re amazing young men.”

The man who was flung out of the vehicle appeared to be shocked and dazed.

The team players grabbed blankets to tend to the injured man and calm him down.

They soon realized the man’s wife was still inside the car.

One of the players grabbed a knife that was on their bus and cut the woman’s seatbelt out. She was bleeding heavily so they also grabbed some blankets to bandage up her arm.

They realized that the woman wouldn’t be able to crawl out the crushed window of the car.

The only way to get her out would be to flip the Jeep over.

So, the team came together and collectively pushed the car over while another team member gently pulled the woman out. Team member Regan Magill captured their efforts on video and posted it on social media.

“He taught us to play selfless football and not selfish — just help others out before yourself,” Magill said.
