For athletes, the time for training is important and valuable. Athletes train as hard, if not harder, than they play on the court or the field. Take Kobe Bryant’s ‘Mamba Mentality’ as an example. The man trained at least four times a day and spent hours inside the court practicing his shots.
This is how greatness is made – or as the present generation calls it, GOAT or Greatest of all Time. There is no time to waste and clown around during training sessions.
The Packers Philosophy
The Green Bay Packers has a unique story and tells much about the Wisconsin community. They are the only NFL team that is publicly owned. This means they get their funding from the generosity of the people.
It’s easy to see how this team and its community work together to achieve one goal. The team means so much to the fans; the fans mean so much more to the team. This team of gentlemen (though rather rough and tough in the field) would always have a place in their hearts for their fans.
Die Hard Fan
Speaking of fans, a family in Wisconsin is one of the Packers’ biggest fans – especially the father. Brock Rubens has been following the team for a long time but had to settle for watching the games on TV last season. But he also took this chance of being at home to influence his daughter, Aria.
Brock taught little Aria to cheer “Go, Pack! Go!” every time they watched their game. At times, he would pick her up like she was one of the team’s cheerleaders and do the cheer and its accompanying pose. This was how he got his daughter to love the game – especially cheering for them.
Impromptu Tea Party
Fast forward to this season, the Rubens family went to the field to watch the Packers’ training camp, along with Aria’s grandparents. However, the tea party wasn’t part of the plan.
Brock and his wife Ashley brought Aria a new tea set toy so she could play with her grandparents. The little girl insisted she bring it with them, and her parents couldn’t say no.
Aria had a little tea party and started handing out the cups to the players. What surprised them was how a player took it and even pretended to drink from the cup. That’s how the tea party started!
Soon, more players stopped by Aria’s tea party and gladly took the cup she handed. One player even gestured that it filled his tummy.
The players said “thank you” as they handed back the cup to Aria, to which she eagerly responded with a loud “Go, Packers! Go!” cheer! It was such a sight, especially with the little girl donning her mini cheerleader uniform.
The Packers Community Personified
Brock and Ashley were grateful for the team’s gesture toward their two-year-old.
“I think that’s what makes it maybe a good story, is because it truly is authentic in the moment. They were enjoying her as much as she was enjoying them,” Ashley told USA Today.
She added that it touched her heart as a mother to see these players being nice to her daughter. She also commented that they indeed have the best team and community.
