We all had our unforgettable in-flight experiences. May it be a precious moment or a horrendous one, you name it, we all had it, hadn’t we?

It could be a horrible experience like wet hair hanging over the seat of the person in front of you, a loud snore from a sleeping passenger, an unruly person kicking the back of your seat, and a bunch more.

Or it could also be a memorable one like sharing the same flight with your entire family, surprise wedding proposals, having a famous personality or celebrity on board, and a flashmob from a group of talented performers.

How would you react if all of a sudden, you found yourself being surrounded by a group of talented folks?

Well, only the passengers of Virgin Australia Flight 0970 en route from Brisbane to Sydney knew the answer to this question. Back in 2014, before they took off during their scheduled flight, the Australian casts of ‘The Lion King’ roared like real lions. They gave their fellow passengers an unforgettable onboard performance.

We usually watch broadway performances on humongous stages, but this one was done tens of thousands of feet above the ground!

Admission was absolutely free!

Who would’ve thought that such theatric performances are now available on planes? The passengers must’ve been in total shock and awe while watching the talented singers.

One of its members, Toni Ann Stewart, decided to upload the video of their performance on her YouTube channel called ToNi AnN/ToNiTuBe.

She wrote in the video’s description: “Yes we did!! We surprised our fellow passengers on Virgin Australia flight 0970 back to Sydney. After an amazing day at the official Brisbane launch announcement we felt elated enough to sing the Circle of Life. It was so much fun. Enjoy!!!”

Who doesn’t know this song?

It’s an iconic song from The Walt Disney Company’s 1994 animated film ‘The Lion King’. The song was composed by English musician Elton John. It’s known to be the opening song of the animated film and these talented folks sure delivered the goods.

The members started by belting the intro of the song, you know that chant-like intro? Right there and then, the passengers already knew what was going to happen next.

A festivity of talent!

The members were all in at that very moment. They soared and roared to the song like it’s an actual broadway performance.

Although it was just an impromptu act, it still went so powerful and the harmony that they created was really beautiful. It’s definitely worth performing on a huge stage for everyone else to see.

The already seated passengers were all stunned by the flashmob and they seemed to enjoy every second of that 2-minute performance. Some even took their phones out and recorded the rare moment.

I wish I was there!

Did you wish the same too while watching? I bet you did. Who wouldn’t want to witness talented people doing such an amazing song performance? Above it all, the moment was raw and pure, yet the performance went amazingly well.

The lines from the iconic song also speak so much about the kind of life that we are living today.

“It’s the circle of life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
‘Til we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle
The circle of life”

You might be blown away by their performance so make sure to fasten your seatbelts first before watching the video below.
