Ladies, we all know weddings could be exciting and nerve-wracking, right? The preparation would make us feel giddy but also anxious because we want that day to be perfect.

The dress is one thing brides want to be perfect on their wedding day. It is a vital part of a woman’s wedding. I mean, it’s the perfect day to feel like a princess like we hoped to be when we were kids, right?

But what could possibly go wrong on your wedding day? Probably a ruined wedding dress, bad hair, and makeup, rain on an outdoor wedding, or the caterers didn’t show up. Worst case scenario? The wedding being called off.

The cowardly move

Kilee Manulak was excited to marry the love of her life. She described the groom-to-be as her “world.” But little did she know that the world would soon crush her down.

A week before their wedding, her ex-fiancé called off the wedding. What’s worse? He did it via text! What a cowardly move.

“He decided a week before the wedding – he sent me a message that he’s been having different feelings and didn’t want to marry me anymore,” Kilee told The Huffington Post.

Mess the dress

What happened to Kilee was totally heartbreaking. Imagine all the excitement only to be called off via text. But instead of moping and crying her heart out, she decided to do something else to let out her anger, frustration, and heartache.

She went to a Color Fun Fest in Tampa, Florida – a 5K run event where participants should wear white as they get showered in colorful, powder paint. Kilee thought it would be perfect even to put lots of mess on that wedding dress.

Her supportive bride’s maids were also there with their supposed outfits for the wedding. Donned in their running shoes (of course, because it’s a fun run!) and their beautiful dresses, the ladies trashed Kilee’s wedding dress with some colorful paint.

Not the only one

Kilee was not the only bride to do this with their wedding dresses. Another bride did the same after his ex-fiancé called off the wedding five days before the wedding.

She let her bride’s maids splash and pour paint all over her dress and posed for a photo showing off her muscle pose—what a strong statement from this bride-to-be.

“It was liberating.”

Kilee admitted that it was difficult for her, especially since she had to call wedding guests and tell them it was canceled. Luckily, she had a strong support system in her family and friends.

She thought it would make her sad to wear that dress again, but the entire event and trashing it with powder paint allowed her to move forward quickly and said, “it was liberating.”

The netizens weighed in

This story became viral, and why wouldn’t it? And netizens had a lot to say.

While some expressed how it wasn’t an economical move to throw paint at the dress, most of them understood why Kilee did it. A Luke Rose wrote in a comment:

“When you’re going through heartbreak like that, sometimes you need to do something a little crazy with your friends to support you!”

But it seemed like she got it figured out because Kilee got her dress washed after the event, and donated it to another bride.
