Doorbell cameras usually serve to I.D. package thieves and other people who are up to no good. But one woman’s camera recently uncovered another culprit: A Good Samaritan.

The woman, identified only as Leigh Anne, posted the video after she found that snow had been shoveled off her porch. Leigh Anne’s Nebraska town had received heavy snowfall and the mystery do-gooder had decided to do her a very kind favor.

She was touched to discover that it was her Fed-Ex delivery man, Brian, with whom she had recently been chatting.

Brian reached out with the gesture after talking to Leigh Anne and discovering that she was a new widow with three children. Leigh Anne’s husband passed away seven months after a cancer diagnosis at the age of 42.

“A few months after [my husband] passed, I was trying to put air in my tires but couldn’t get the cap off,” said Leigh Anne. “I noticed a FedEx truck nearby and asked him for help. He was more than willing to help me. When he found out my situation, and that we have 3 young children, he offered to help me any way he could. We live in a small town and he delivers for FedEx here all the time.”

It was a small gesture, but it meant a lot to Leigh Anne and her family.

Leigh Anne caught the mystery man shoveling snow on her doorbell camera and posted the video on Facebook.

“Doorbell cameras don’t only catch people stealing packages,” she wrote.

The video shows Brian coming up onto Leigh Anne’s porch, his Fed-Ex delivery truck parked on the street.

He quietly starts to shovel snow off the porch, making it safe for her and her kids.

Leigh Anne said that Brian has also shoveled snow from her walkways several times, without her requesting it. She says that capturing his kindness on video touched her heart and she wanted everyone to see it.

People around the internet were also touched by the story.

Some suggested she should leave a hot cup of coffee out for him one day as a gesture of thanks.

The polar vortex that blew through much of the United States in late January brought sub-zero temperatures and heavy snowfalls, so there has been a lot of shoveling to be done.

In Nov. 2018, a doorbell camera caught a kind stranger returning the wallet of a Washington D.C. woman.

Katie Egger Makris had dropped her wallet as she rushed out the door to work at 5:30 a.m. She was surprised to get an alert on her phone that her doorbell camera had caught some movement.

“This guy was nice enough to stop his van, clearly checked the address on the ID, and returned it under our mat. Anyone who lives in DC knows this is pretty much unheard of,” she wrote. “You drop a wallet, you lose a wallet, and you usually lose everything in your accounts if you’re not quick, too. Random Dallas fan in the plaid with the white van: thank you. You’re what’s right in the world.”

The state of Nebraska, where Leigh Anne lives, recorded snow drifts of as much as 10 inches.

She posted the video on social media, where it garnered thousands of views, in an attempt to find the man.

Eventually, the kind stranger was identified but preferred to remain anonymous. But at least he knows how grateful one person is for his kindness.
