Marcus Hill, the dad, and MJ Hill, his seven-year-old son, cooked breakfast together one morning so they could surprise Mom with breakfast in bed on Valentine’s Day. They had such a great time putting the meal together. It might’ve even been a better experience for them than for mom.

At first, Marcus was just going to make the breakfast himself. But when MJ started to help, the two of them had a great time. It was such a fun experience, they made plans to do it again.

But these two weren’t just cooking. They also have jam sessions while they’re in the kitchen. It’s so sweet to see them strengthening their bond over food and music.

Marcus knows how important it is to spend time with his son. He said, “I grew up in a single-parent home. I am also a school teacher. I know a lot of kids who don’t have parents in the household.”
He continued, “When I started posting the videos, I’d get comments from friends and people I don’t even know saying, ‘This is inspirational. I didn’t have a dad growing up.’”
An inspiration for fathers everywhere
A lot of people are supporting Marcus and applauding his actions as a father. He explained, “I wasn’t trying to be an inspiration but it’s like thank you! It became one of those things. This is something positive.”
He went on to say, “Let me keep posting. When it started going viral, that wasn’t my intent, but I decided let’s keep going.”
MJ is grateful for the time together
You can tell just how much MJ loves spending time with his dad: “I have fun with my dad. We do a lot of things.” He included them playing football, cooking, and of course, grilling.
