Josh and Jessaka Clark from Effingham County, Georgia, had always dreamed of having a big family. Josh and his wife, who have one biological son, had the desire to adopt more children but couldn’t imagine that one day, they would get the chance to adopt seven siblings who were abandoned by their mom and had spent four years in separate foster homes.

“I grew up with a lot of foster brothers and sisters and my parents were foster parents, so I was used to having lots of kids around the house,” Jessaka said.

The couple was enthusiastic about adopting the siblings and finally brought all the seven siblings together after many years of separation

When her husband approached her to ask what she thought about adopting the siblings, Jessaka said that her ‘eyes were probably as big as his’.

“We prayed that night and didn’t sleep well because God told us that these were the kids for us.”

Soon afterward, the Clarks officially adopted the seven siblings who moved in with them in August 2016 before the court had made its final decision on their case. In May of the following year, the siblings were officially recognized as a part of the family. After spending nearly four years living in separate foster homes, the siblings could finally settle into a new life, as a part of a large and loving family.

However, unbeknownst to them, the Clark family was yet to gain another member

The Clarks immediately fell in love with their new kids and their biological son was happy to proclaim that he now had seven siblings! Jessaka, Josh, Noah, Maria, Katerin, Elizabet, James, Guillermo, Kristina, and Jason could not be happier together in their family home but that wasn’t the end!

One day, the couple got a call from the adopting agency and learned that the ‘Super 7’ as the siblings were named, had an eight sibling, a baby sister. They realized they had to adopt her as well, which they proceeded to do but a new problem soon arose: they didn’t have enough room in their home to accommodate another child.

A family friend suggested the couple set a GoFundMe Page to raise money to buy a new, larger home for the growing family

The fundraiser was a success and so far, the Clarks raised almost 71k $, 9k short of their current 80k goal! Unsurprisingly, having such a large family proved to be a challenge for Josh and Jessica. They remained optimistic despite the hardships they faced, knowing they have each other to turn to for love and support in face of adversity.

“You have to know that God called you to adopt. And you need a lot of support. You will feel the greatest joys. And you will feel the biggest heart breaks. But just like there is pain in labor, at the end you get a beautiful child… or seven,” Jessaka said.

We’re sure that the siblings will grow into wonderful young men and women and the Clark family will live happily together for many years to come.
