It’s always disheartening to hear of people who dump their dogs out on the street. If someone can no longer care for their dog, the best thing they can do is bring the pup to a shelter. But sadly, this doesn’t always happen.

An elderly man named Eugene Bostick knows this all too well. He often finds dogs left near his home.

Bostick, a Forth Worth, Texas, resident in his 80s, was taking care of a lot of dogs that he found near his barn. Because his barn was located on a dead-end street, the heartless pet owners usually leave them there.

“People sometimes come by and dump dogs out here, leaving them to starve,” Bostick told The Dodo. “So, we started feeding them, letting them in, taking them to the vet to get them spayed and neutered. We made a place for them to live.”

Bostick felt sorry for these dogs, and he had no choice but to take all of them in. Now, he feeds and shelters countless abandoned dogs.

Bostick grabbed a bunch of plastic barrels and made holes that were large enough for the dogs to sit in. He then attached wheels and tied them all together to his tractor.

One day, he caught a glimpse of a man attaching carts to his tractor to carry tons of rocks. Then, an idea popped up in his head – he could create a “dog train” to take his pups around the neighborhood. Since Bostick was a pretty skilled welder himself, he was able to turn his idea of a “dog train” into reality.

That is how his doggy train was made. Bostick revs up his tractor once or twice a week to take his nine dogs out for some fresh air around the quieter places in the neighborhood.

“Whenever they hear me hooking the tractor up to it, man, they get so excited,” he told The Dodo. “They all come running and jump in on their own. They’re ready to go.”

You could see them happily enjoy their little trip as their barks echo across the peaceful street in a YouTube clip uploaded by Texas Famous.

The dog train instantly became famous on the internet.

Bostick’s doggy train first got the interest of the Forth Worth locals, and some of them would take short videos of the train or ask for photos.

When those photos and videos were uploaded, the circulation was just non-stop, and sites like Buzzfeed and The Dodo did stories on the train.

Bostick has done an amazing job caring for these dogs and keeping them happy and healthy. What an incredible gentleman.
