Building a snowman is a fun tradition for many families during the holiday season – but unfortunately, there are a lot of Scrooges out there too.

A driver from Kentucky learned the hard way that you shouldn’t mess with people’s lovable snowmen – especially one that’s 9 feet tall.

Cody Lutz, his fiance Lucy, and Lucy’s sister, all built the towering snowman outside his home using a thick tree trunk as its foundation.

He welcomed the sisters (who are from Mississippi) to his Petersburg, Kentucky home so they could experience the biggest snowfall they’d ever seen. That, along with the huge snowman.

Lutz shared with CBS News:

“We had a full weekend of sledding, snowball fights … and making the most of the winter wonderland. Of course, that included building a snowman!”

A massive tree stump in the front yard proved to be the best choice as a base for the snowman.

It ended up nearly ten feet tall thanks to a top hat. It wasn’t something anyone would miss passing by.

“Everyone driving by loved him, and waved and honked to express their delight,” Lutz said.

“However, evidently not everyone was a fan! I arrived home to find a set of tire tracks across my yard, ending abruptly at the base of the snowman.”

Frosty was still standing but the stump, now exposed, had a bumper mark on it. A very snowy one.

Lutz went to work on a Monday, and when he came back, found tire tracks leading up to his beefed-up snowman.

Now it was snowy so it’s safe to assume the vehicle was a 4×4 or at least all-wheel drive.

But Frosty’s sturdy lower body won that fight!

Lutz called it “Instant Karma”.

The driver found out Frosty’s “roots” were so much stronger.

And it’s a wonder the truck was able to drive away after an impact that hard. Unless they drove away with airbags in their faces.

Can’t help but wonder what the driver’s story was when he got back home. Or what the insurance company did.

And through it all, Frosty, in his natural element, remained standing and smiling the whole time.

He certainly got the last laugh there! This towering snowman was cold as ice the whole time.

That driver was a real Grinch for attempting to run the massive snowman over though.

Frosty’s stump may have been exposed but that vehicle’s front end was too.

A hanging front bumper, exposed radiator, and lots of odd noises became the driver’s headache.

That’s after the headache he suffered from the impact – not to mention, lots of embarrassment.

The trio got the last laugh.

All they wanted was to enjoy the snow, but this little mishap has now become a holiday memory for them.

It goes to show that it’s wrong to mess with people’s fun – especially during the Christmas season. And if you do – prepare to have karma knocking at your door.
