Amanda was surprised to see the delivery driver salute toward the camera

When she received notification on her phone about an incoming delivery, Amanda LeCureaux from New Baltimore, Michigan, did not suspect she was in for a surprise. She turned on the camera and saw an Amazon delivery driver stop in front of the door to her house and perform a salute.

“I started to play it…and it showed him saluting, and I was like, ‘oh my gosh,’” LeCureaux said.

The driver spotted a US Air Force sign on the family’s porch and decided to honor the family with a salute

Amanda’s husband serves in the Air National Guard, the reason why the family has an Air Force sign on their porch. The video of the delivery driver’s gesture was posted on YouTube.

“He was very honored they would do something like that,” LeCureaux said, stating her husband has served in the Air National Guard for longer than 13 years.

Small though it may be, his gesture made the family feel honored and reminded us that small actions make a big difference.

“My husband and I thought with all the negative stuff going on in the world…that was really sweet,” she said.

Sometimes, the only thing we can do to make the world a better place is to make someone happy

We often get caught up in the chaos of everyday life which makes it easy for us to forget the truly important things that make us human. Every once in a while, we ought to break our routine and pay attention to small things.

The best way to do that is to pay attention to details and things you usually disregard. Do the things you love with your friends and family and make an effort to do something nice for them. A simple kind word or gesture is often worth more than an expensive gift!

You don’t have to wait for Veteran’s day to honor those who serve

It doesn’t matter whether you’re honoring veterans or active service members, as long as your gesture shows respect for the men and women who sacrificed and still sacrifice their health and their lives for freedom.

Make sure you know the difference between types of holidays honoring the men and women in uniform. In addition to Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day, observed on November 11th, and the last Monday of May respectively, Armed Forces Day, celebrated the third Saturday in May is dedicated to honoring all active members of the military.

A joint celebration of all six branches of the US military, the day also honors people who have served in the military.

“Today, Armed Forces Day is celebrated in American communities and on military bases throughout the world with parades, picnics, shopping discounts, festivals, and parties.”
