Death can be a dreadful thing to think about and discuss.
When we hear the word, all we can feel is the sadness and grief of someone passing. It’s not the most comfortable topic to talk about, but it is an inevitable part of life. Death is our end, a destination that is not about “how” or “why,” but “when.”
This is why when death is near, we want to make it beautiful, to say the least.
Some have time to say goodbye to a loved one. Compared to those who lost someone through a sudden and tragic accident, others have the chance to still make every minute count.
We’ve heard so many stories of dying wishes.
That is why this daughter pulled up all the strings for her mother’s wish.
Lisa McDonald’s mother has been in palliative care for quite some time. Lise and her sister took care of their mother, and it was because of that hands-on care that they sensed something.
Lisa and her sister could see their mother’s health deteriorating.
Fearing the end, they wanted to do something for their mother before it was too late. Lisa wanted her to have a beautiful memory to carry with her before she passed over.
They remember how their mother loved deer and Bambi.
Yes, that’s right. The lovable childhood story we all grew up with.
Lisa said that her mother is obsessed with deer, especially with Bambi. Her dear mom has many shirts, sheets, sculptures, and other Bambi-themed items at home.
So, they thought of the perfect way to cheer her up.
They were going to give her a surprise visit with a real-life Bambi.
Lisa was a member of a private Facebook group called The Kindness Pandemic. There, she asked people if they knew of anyone who has a petting zoo of some sort. They told their story and their mother’s love for deer.
Coincidentally, they bumped into Chris and Simone, who happened to have a deer named Bambi!
The sisters contacted the couple, and the couple (with Bambi) immediately drove over to the palliative care room where Lisa’s mom was located. When the deer entered the room, their mother’s reaction was priceless.
She couldn’t believe that a real Bambi was in her room!

Lisa was very much thankful to the Facebook community, especially to Chris and Simone, for helping them make her mother’s final moments that beautiful. She shared this video with the people in the Facebook group, which touched everyone there.
Daily Mail UK shared some of the best comments saying:
“Brought me to tears. What a special and touching moment. Absolutely beautiful people to drive all that way for your mum to experience something so magical before she passes,” one woman wrote.
Lisa’s post reached over 17,000 likes which is huge considering it is a private group with limited visibility to the public.
