Someone driving a car ran a red light and hit another vehicle that flipped, trapping a grandmother and 5-year-old boy.

One witness to the accident was one of the most famous actors in Hollywood, Danny Trejo.

Trejo has been in hundreds of movies and tv shows and is most known for his role as Machete in the Spy Kid series. Because of this role, he got his own movie titled Machete, and many of his fans refer to him by the name.

Getting someone out of an overturned car is no easy task, let alone a small child with special needs strapped in a car seat.

Trejo’s calm, quick action, with help from witness Monica Jackson, led to a successful rescue of the boy.

“He was panicked. I said OK, we have to use our superpowers. So he screamed ‘superpowers,’ and we started yelling ‘superpowers,” he told the interviewer, “I said do this, with the muscles. He said, ‘muscles’. We got kind of a bond. I kept facing him away from the accident.”

Firefighters assisted his grandmother, and Trejo could not praise these first responders enough in an interview after the crash where he also told people,

“Pay attention. And the only thing that saved that little kid was his car seat, honest to God.”

His words are serving as a powerful reminder of how important safety while driving is.

This isn’t the first time Danny Trejo has lent a helping hand.

In fact, he spends much of his time working as a drug counselor. Having been sober for over 50 years, Trejo understands that support is a major part of maintaining sobriety.

And although Trejo plays villains and tough guys in movies and television shows, and appears unapproachable on the outside, this couldn’t be further from the truth of who he is.

He is incredibly generous, donating to many charities and organizations.

This includes donating hundreds of meals from his business, Trejo’s Tacos.

He donated meals to frontline workers and their families during the pandemic. He has also worked with Best Friends Animal Society, Hollywood Arts, and many more causes and foundations.

Trejo has been quoted saying,

“Everything good that has happened to me has happened as a direct result of helping someone else.”

If there have ever been words to live by, the quote above is those words.

Doing good by others will do good for you, so don’t be afraid to step in and help someone, even if it’s something small like reaching an item on a high shelf for someone in a grocery store or simply holding a door.

Danny Trejo didn’t have the smoothest start to life, but he didn’t let that stop him from becoming the household name and face he has today.

So often, celebrities seem to lose sight of their humanity, but Trejo has done everything but.

From action movies to family-friendly cartoons, Trejo has been in everything in-between. He is truly a man of many talents and attributes that everyone can look up to.

You can see Danny Trejo in his upcoming roles in The House Next Door: Meet The Blacks 2 and Minions: The Rise of Gru.
