One of the fun things about dads is that it is completely okay to laugh at their misfortune.
Laughing at fathers who are struggling to complete a task often leads to some truly wholesome family moments. Memories that will last a lifetime.
The family in the video below experienced this firsthand one cold, frosty morning when their father struggled to bring the garbage bins back inside after trash collection.
His struggle was their joy. Then they posted it to YouTube so others could enjoy it as well.
Dad struggles to get bins up the icy driveway
Anyone who lives in a colder climate can tell you, everything is harder when it’s icy.
Driving is harder, walking is harder, and just doing anything at all is that much more difficult.
One thing that is definitely more difficult when the weather is cold and icy is bringing in the trash bins.
“My brother-in-law attempted to put the family’s weekly rubbish out for collection,” the man’s sister-in-law, Carrie-Anne Bailey told METRO.
“It was a cold frosty morning in the forest of dean and little did he know just how challenging his morning task would be.”
Trash bins: A consistent source of frustration for many
Once upon a time, our trash bins didn’t have wheels and we were forced to pick them up to bring them back in.
Then some smart person had the idea of putting wheels underneath so we could just roll them into place.
The problem is, those wheels end up making everything harder when a driveway or sidewalk is icy.
This is especially the case when trying to roll bins up a steep incline.
Gravity and lack of friction hinder Dad’s attempts
Poor Dad. He just wants to bring the trash bins in.
As he tries to roll the bin up the driveway, he can only get so far before it starts to slip back down again.
He tries many different techniques but nothing works.
He tries walking sideways, pushing the bin in front of him, dragging the bin behind him, and everything he could think of.
Dad’s family laughs at his misfortune
There’s nothing like starting your day by laughing at a loved one who is having difficulty with something.
There just tends to be something so satisfying about that.
The man’s family can be heard in the video bursting out into laughter as he continues to struggle with the bin.
Every moment the man and the bin slide down even a little, it leads to chuckles and giggles from everyone inside.
His family could have helped him with the trash bins, but not doing so was more fun
His family could have helped him out.
Even if just one other person came outside to assist the man, it would have made a world of difference.
Where’s the fun in that, though?
Instead, the family stays inside where it’s nice and warm and they can continue to be entertained.
They did manage to yell out some good advice to him, however.
They told him to roll the bin over to the grass and get it up the driveway from there.
Eventually, that’s what the man did, but he caused a lot of laughter before finally finishing his task.
