There are many things that would change once you become a parent. And if you are a parent, you certainly know what are some of these changes.
These changes include your priorities and personal life.
Some parents are having a hard time dealing with these metamorphoses. But that’s totally fine because being a parent is never easy.
There’s no doubt that they can do everything for the welfare of their kids. They can literally sacrifice their own lives for them.
This story of a loveable father is a great attestation of how far parents can go for their kids.
He is Christopher Schultz and he was a great father who spent almost his entire life taking care of them. His brother, Ryan Olson has attested to how amazing he was as a father.
“If he wasn’t at work, he was with his kids. He loved his kids more than life itself. Everyone says it, but he proved it,” he said.
He totally proved it when an unfortunate event happened while he was spending time on Long Bridge in Detroit Lakes.
He and his kids were playing at that time but one of his kids fell in the water under the bridge. As the kid was being curious, he was crawling and unexpectedly fell.
Surely, that moment was terrifying for Chris but he immediately did what he thought was the right thing to do. He was not after his emotion and his safety. His mind, and his reflexes swiftly took action to save his son.
Thankfully, Chris was able to save his child but, unfortunately, he was not able to save himself.
This guy successfully did what he really wanted and that was to keep his son away from danger. He had managed to get his son to the surface. But he had a hard time keeping his head above the water after he gave his son to a woman who was near the shore at that time.
“(Chris) was holding onto her as well,” Ryan said.
“He just couldn’t hang on and he let go,” he added.
This line of Ryan is truly heartbreaking. The moment he let go was also the moment when he knew that it was the last act of love that he could do for his child.
The feeling of losing your kids is truly painful but leaving them is just another level. You won’t know how they will deal with your loss. Just the thought that you could no longer guide them is just too heartbreaking.
Chris died a few hours before Father’s Day in the hospital.
It was Father’s Day but he was not there anymore to celebrate with his four kids and his wife Chelsea. Although his children were still young, once they hear what their dad did for them when they grow old, they will know that they’re from a hero’s stock.
That’s why Ryan had a big wish.
“I hope that they always remember, and know, that their dad is a hero,” he said.
“I just want those kids to never blame themselves, and just know that their Dad is my hero.”
Chris is truly a hero and his love for his kids will never be forgotten by his family. Ryan was also sure that his brother would do the same if it happened to other people.
It’s because Chris loved to help others. He is just an amazing person.
“Chris would do that for your kids, he would do that for my kid, he would do that for anyone’s kid.”
