Let’s take a moment and show some love to those who work on the holidays, and especially on Christmas. It’s not easy being away from family during the season.
Just like Pierce T. Vaughan, a flight attendant of Delta Airlines, who needed to fly and take care of passengers during the eve and day of Christmas.
Her father, Hal, wasn’t about to let her spend the holidays alone and at work so he bought a total of 6 tickets just to fly with her on Christmas eve and day in a moment so sweet and so memorable, the story went viral.
Mike Levy, Hal’s seatmate during the flight from Fort Myers to Detroit, posted and shared the story on Facebook.
Mike wanted everyone to know how much he admired Hal, saying:
“I had the pleasure of sitting next to Hal on my flight back home. His daughter Pierce was our flight attendant who had to work over Christmas. Hal decided he would spend the holiday with her. So, he is flying on each of her flights today and tomorrow around the country to spend time with his daughter for Christmas. What a fantastic father! Wish you both a very Merry Christmas!”
And everyone who saw it was so moved by this father’s actions.
“Great story especially this time of year Merry Christmas!” A Facebook user said, emphasizing on the perfect timing of Hal’s story this Yuletide season.
“Best Dad ever. In these days I love these special stories.” Another Facebook user exclaimed.
“What an awesome Dad! She will remember this forever!” Another Facebook user said, knowing how much Hal’s great effort means for Pierce.
Pierce also shared the story on her own Facebook account. Christmas in the skies wasn’t so lonely thanks to Hal!
Her post reads:
“Look ma we made it Kimberly Hal Vaughan! Dad’s first trip using his benefits was a success! A special thanks to all of the patient, wonderful gate agents around the country and my perfect crew. He made it on every flight and even got first class RSW-DTW (Christmas miracle).”
And when her post went viral, reactions were nothing but pure admiration and love for both her and her father. It’s got to be one of the most memorable Christmas moments ever.

“This bought tears to my eyes! Sending festive wishes from England, UK.” Commented another user all the way from England.
And perhaps, one of the most touching comments of all, “I can’t tell you what that kind of gift would mean to me. For all of us who can no longer see our dads, I’m so happy that you can cherish yours! Keep this memory close always.”
That’s from a Facebook user who lost her father, expressing how happy she was for this hardworking daughter and her loving father.
Hal went to great heights, above and beyond what was expected of him, just to spend Christmas with his daughter.
