When it comes to wild animals there’s no telling how they will react when they meet another species. Nowadays, it’s much more common for us to catch these amazing experiences on camera. These moments are often funny and sometimes a bit magical. There always seems to be a bit of magic left in the world, especially when dealing with earth’s animals.
One video captures an innocent meeting between two very different species.
Cat vs Deer
While the title of the video is “Cat vs. Deer,” it couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s actually a hilarious interaction that shows, above all, unbridled curiosity. Curiosity didn’t, in fact, kill the cat this time around.

From the way they are cruising along, you might think this was a simple after-dinner stroll for them! Five does lead the way, and a big buck hangs back (typical). However, when they get to the end of the path, they encounter a little creature that causes some commotion!
That little creature is a cat!
When the deer see the cat, everyone freezes for a second. The head doe looks at the cat, and the cat looks at the doe – it’s a standoff. As the lead doe stops, the others bunch up behind her to see what the big fuss is.
After the strange stand-off, the cat moves closer.
Time always helps with these sorts of things. The deer and cat give themselves space as they continue on their journey – at least, that was the plan. Once the cat walks away, the deer seem to get curious!

Looking for shelter under a car, the cat calmly walks over and turns around to peer out at the strange brown creatures it just saw. When it turns around, however, SURPRISE! They followed it there!
In this story, it’s not the cat who is curious, it’s the deer!
Even after the cat leaves the shelter of the car, the deer follow it. Deer don’t eat meat, so they aren’t interested in hunting this cat – they are truly just curious!
Deer evolved with physical features and an inherent skittishness that warn of the proximity of predators. Those characteristics enable deer to focus on their surroundings and recall the slightest change. Deer are curious by nature, even in an odd way during the rut. – Post Gazette

We don’t know what happened after the camera stopped rolling, all we know is that whoever was filming was in the right place at the right time! It’s not every day that you see magical moments in nature, even if they are tiny!
The video has earned over 4 million views!
Even if people clicked expecting to see a cat fight off a deer (from the title), they stayed because of how cute it was.
