911 call: “We got a guy who just stole a bike here at Walmart. I got him roped and tied to a tree.”

Um, say what?! Who even does that?

A real life cowboy on horseback, of course!

It’s not every day that you spot a cowboy on horseback galloping around a Walmart parking lot with his cattle-herding dogs in tow.

It’s also not every day that you see that same cowboy catch himself a thieving dope with his flying lasso rope!

This sounds like a cheesy storyline from a spaghetti western flick, but for rancher and ex-rodeo champ Robert Barba, it was just a regular shopping day at Walmart.

Just like all good Westerns, this showdown at the shopping cart corral started when someone in distress called out for help.

In an interview with CBS News, Robert said he was loading up some dog food and camping gear into the back of his pickup truck when he heard a woman start screaming about a wily bandit who had just stolen her mountain bike.

“‘Stop him! Stop him! He stole my bike! He stole my bike!’ And I kind of look around and all of a sudden this guy goes whizzing by me on a bicycle.”

There wasn’t enough time to get inside his truck and back it out, so Robert quickly unloaded the horse he happened to have in his trailer and used literal horsepower to give chase to!

Note to all the would-be crooks out there: if you plan on stealing a bicycle from the Walmart in Eagle Point, Oregon, you better scan the parking lot first to make sure there aren’t any cowboys waiting to lasso and hog-tie you for being such a douche!

Otherwise, you may end up getting noticed by the local “Lone Ranger” hero, who has no problem taking the law into his hands with his superior lassoing skills.

With his sidekick Long John saddled up and ready to rock, Robert galloped through the parking lot, letting his dogs lead the way.

The BMX bandit was having problems shifting gears, so the man abandoned two wheels in favor of his own two feet.

Of course, that slowed him down considerably, and it didn’t take very long before Robert caught up and gave him front row seats to the best rodeo show in town!

Security cameras in the parking lot captured the moment that Robert reached for his trusty lasso and did what cowboys do best.

“A couple swings and then I threw it at him, just like I would a steer. He’s like, ‘What are you doing, man? You got a badge?’ And I’m like, ‘No, I ain’t got a badge.”

After successfully catching the runaway robber, Robert promptly called 911 told them that he had just lassoed and tied a crook to the tree.

Since was the good guy in this story, Robert called 911 to report what happened.

“We got a guy who just stole a bike here at Walmart. I got him roped and tied to a tree.”

The operator couldn’t believe what they were hearing, so Robert repeated himself and briefly described what went down.

“I got him roped from a horse and he’s tied to a tree.”

When officer Chris Adams arrived at the scene, it was exactly as Robert had described.

“I looked up and from the horse there was a rope connected to the ankle of a gentleman on the ground holding onto a tree. I’d take him by my side any day.”

You can’t very well be a good cowboy if you don’t have your rope. So before he rode off into the sunset, he asked Officer Adams:

“Can I have my rope back? I’ve gotta go.”

THE END.
