In the middle of the pandemic, we have two choices, to spread kindness or negativity.
That is the reason why most of us would treasure feel-good news.
Whenever there is a viral video about kindness and love, it gives us hope and happiness.
At the beginning of this year, a couple posted a TikTok video that went viral, earning 4.3 M views.
They did not expect it to blow up; they were just so happy about what they saw on their CCTV one night.
Tracey Ramirez and her boyfriend, Jonas Honea, were used to getting a ‘bad taste’ whenever they avail themselves of the services of these food delivery apps.
“We’ve had not-so-great experiences in the past,” Ramirez said in her interview with WFAA.
If you have ordered through these food delivery apps, you might understand where they were coming from.
However, due to the pandemic, these delivery apps are still convenient.
So, the couple from Carrollton, Texas, was stunned when they saw what one delivery driver did for them.
Everything was caught on their security camera.
“I was emotional when I saw it,” Ramirez continued. “Shocked first and then emotional.”
Ramirez and her boyfriend did not expect that their delivery driver would do something extra for them. That was the first time they had experienced such kindness.
“Never had this type of experience, so yeah, I was pretty shocked,” Honea said.
First, the delivery driver laid a tissue paper on the small table, and then he left the food order and a little gift bag.
When Ramirez and Honea opened the small brown bag, it had a water bottle, facemasks, a handwritten note, and the poem, “Footprints in the sand.”
Ramirez was so touched that she posted the video on TikTok. She was determined to find the kind delivery driver who did this.
“Have you ever seen taken with Liam Neeson?” Honea joked in their interview. “She was like him.”
That’s when Ramirez laughed, and then she said the famous movie line, “I will find you.”
Soon enough, the couple got the man’s full name and phone number.
The name of the kind and sweet delivery driver is Donald Jackson, Sr.
Jackson, Sr. started leaving small gift bags about two years ago after he found out that he has congestive heart failure.
This realization led him to promise God that if he got better, he would help others.
“All of that positive energy was filling me back up and I was feeling happy,” Jackson shared.
Jackson didn’t want any type of recognition, and he didn’t get any. Until the day he received a call.
Ramirez and her boyfriend invited Jackson over for dinner.
After sharing stories, Ramirez told Jackson about the viral video. She also told him about a crowdfunding campaign they created for him.
Then, Ramirez showed Jackson the amount they had collected.
Jackson couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw the amount! They were able to raise $6,000 for him.
Ramirez then said that he deserved every penny because of the many lives he was changing.
“I just wanted to put a little hope in these people’s hearts, a little joy in their soul and a little peace in their minds, just for a good minute,” Jackson shared, smiling. “That’s all I wanted to do.”
For this kind-hearted delivery driver, he just wanted to do something small. Little did he know, he was already touching so many lives.
