Wilhelmina Thomass, a young mom from Columbus, Ohio, was picking up a restaurant order from a pizzeria on High Street about a week ago, while working as a DoorDash driver.

The woman left the car for moments with her twin babies inside.
But these moments were enough for her car and babies to disappear.
When Thomass returned to the spot where she had parked the car running, it wasn’t there anymore, and her babies were missing, too.

Wilhelmina called the police immediately, and soon the search for the car and the two kidnapped babies started.
A few hours later, one of the twins was found abandoned near the Dayton International Airport.
Thankfully, little Kyair was fine, but baby Kason was still missing.
Knowing that the 5-month-old baby was with a stranger whose intentions were unknown, Kason’s family was getting more and more anxious as time went by and he was nowhere to be found.

Restaurant employees told the police that they noticed a homeless woman leaving the restaurant when the twins’ mother was entering.
The woman was later identified as Nalah Jackson, and the police started searching for her.

The police then said in a press conference that they received more than 30 tips about the suspect.
People were calling the Columbus Police Department’s hotline to say they had spotted her in different places, and they were all asked to call 911.
The tips seemed to agree that the woman was spotted in Indianapolis, so three local detectives from Columbus traveled there to further investigate the case along with IMPD and FBI.

In the meantime, the baby’s family could not believe their baby was in danger. They begged the suspect to bring their baby back.
“If you look at him and you see anything, see a precious child who’s longing for his mother,” LaFonda Thomass, the twins’ grandmother, said at the time. “We beg you, please, please, please do the right thing and just bring my baby home.”

The baby’s mother was worried about Kason’s safety and whether or not he was being fed.
A few hours later, the suspect was arrested and was awaiting extradition to Columbus, where she faces two felony counts of kidnapping.
Baby Kason was found safe in what seemed like a miracle.
A photo is worth a thousand words.
The IMPD is thankful that Kason Thomas was found earlier this evening.

You see, the officers looking for him were starting to lose hope, and stopped at a local restaurant to have something to eat before they started looking for the baby again.
“It was time for us to decompress because we were disappointed that we could not find him,” Sgt. Shawn Anderson of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department told WISH-TV. “And then God opened up the heavens to us and almost took him and put him right in our hands.”
Indeed, right outside the restaurant, there was the car they had been looking for all this time.

Inside was the baby, who seemed to be fine, although confused.
Kason was taken to the hospital where doctors found him in good health, and he could soon be reunited with his family.
