Randy was driving his truck when he noticed that another driver was dangerously close to veering off the road. The driver had a medical condition, Randy later recalled, and was in need of urgent medical aid.

There was no time to lose and Randy knew he had to act to prevent a deathly accident. What happened next was caught on dashcam and amazed everyone who saw the video!

What happened next was the kind of stuff you usually see in Hollywood movies. Randy jumped into a moving car and literally saved the driver’s life! Following closely behind the man’s vehicle was a squad car, that couldn’t tell from their viewpoint that the driver was in trouble. They were simply following closely until the driver came to a stop. But when they saw Randy wave at them and dive into the car they knew something much more serious was happening.

“The driver of the truck (later identified as Dixon resident Randy Tompkins) exited his vehicle, ran up to the car and without hesitation jumped into the car through the passenger side window in an attempt to stop it,” Dixon Police said in a statement published on Twitter. “Tompkins was able to get the car in park just as officers approached the vehicle as well.”

The driver, who was having a seizure, was later transported to a hospital for treatment.

“We want to thank Tompkins for his heroism and for coming to a complete stranger’s aid today!” police said in the statement.
