Parents will do anything just to make sure their kids have healthy and happy lives. They’ll go above and beyond to make that possible.

The pandemic and increasing inflation are making things harder for most families.

Theresa West is like most parents. She wants to give the best possible lives to her three adopted kids. However, with everything that’s going around right now, she’s finding it hard to make ends meet.

She wanted to make sure her kids were well-fed.

Unfortunately, putting food on the table three times a day is a challenge these days. Despite their situation, she knew she had to do something.

Theresa went to a local store.

The two cops based in Hillsborough interrogated her. They investigated her for a report of larceny.

The officers were caught off-guard by Theresa’s response.

The mother didn’t deny the crime. In fact, she admitted to stealing items from Food Lion.

After her admission, she apologized.

She told the officers about her current situation and what prompted her to commit the crime. She had no money and she had to feed her kids. They’d been starving for three days.

In an interview, she shared:

“I had to go out and steal food, and that’s desperate, and I’m sorry for doing what I did, but my kids were hungry.”

The police officers had to make sure her story checked out.

And true enough, the family’s refrigerator and kitchen were empty.

There was only one pack of cheese there.

The kind men had to rectify the situation.

The police officers returned with lots of food for the family. She was touched by their generosity, thanking them for being so kind.

The incident was posted on the department’s Facebook page.

There, it earned tons of positive comments. One particular Facebook user said:

“Thank you for your love and compassion for your fellow man. The lives of this family will be changed forever. May God grant you many blessing and protection while you both are out there protecting the streets.”

Another one commented:

“God bless you ..what you give you receive back..and also after so much bad news about the american police officers its really nice to see that not all are so brutal..well done.”

Police officers aren’t just there to arrest criminals and implement the law.
