They are sweet, fluffy, and loyal creatures that their presence can bring joy to anyone.
What if you come home not seeing your beloved pet, only to re-emerge after five years?
This is what happened to Chuckie.
Chuckie is a sweet, chocolate brown Labrador Retriever.
After five years of being away from his beloved humans, he was finally reunited with his family and shall spend his days in a loving environment.
Chuckie is one of the 166 rescued dogs and cats in Adams County, Ohio.
He was found chained in front of a property where he was rescued by the Humane Society of the United State’s Animal Rescue Team. Using a microchip, they were able to track Chuckie’s family. And boy, was he gone for so long!
The rescuers found out that Chuckie’s family was from Indiana, and he had been missing for five years!
Excited to bring him back, the rescuers contacted his family, to meet them with joy and laughter. Based on the video shared, we can see that Chuckie was in good spirits at finally seeing his owners. He even pulled on his leash as the four ladies called out to him!
Chuckling, the guy holding his leash, let go and allowed him to run his family.
He was super happy to see them as indicated by his wagging tail and sloppy kisses. His owners were delighted to pat and caress his fur.
Finally, Chuckie is home, and he doesn’t wait for any second as he soaks in the love given to him by his owners. We can all thank Chuckie’s rescuers from saving him and bringing him back home.
The Humane Society of the United States is an organization that rescues and cares for thousands of animals every year. They take on factory farms, puppy mills, trophy hunting, and animal cosmetic testings to fight animal cruelty. Their vision is to create a humane society where animals and humans live in peace.
Dogs are one of the beneficiaries of their program. We can only be thankful that Chuckie remained in good health despite the conditions he faced for five years.
But what makes Chuckie truly special?
Chuckie is a Labrador Retriever, which means he belongs to the group of family dogs. They are sweet, loving, outgoing, and friendly dogs who will genuinely make you gush at their sweetness. It’s just sad to know that they were unwanted before due to their color.
How can anyone not like, when most of us love, chocolate?
Eventually, they grew to be accepted and loved by society to the point they’re now becoming great family pets. They tend to be more playful too than their black and yellow Labrador siblings. Plus, they tend to have a thicker tail and chunkier head, which shows off their adorable face.
They tend to have plenty of energy too, so they can play with their humans.
Their positive and energetic outlook is true with Chuckie.
Despite the long and harsh conditions he faced for five years, he remained faithful and full of energy. They say the real test of character is when you’re faced with challenges. And we can tell that Chuckie has an exceptional character.
We might not know what indeed happened to him for the last five years, but we can tell that he has a strong and courageous spirit! Take note that he was found chained to a property where a deer carcass was supposed to be his food.
Five years may have passed, but for Chuckie, it’s not a hindrance to start all over again and live a happy life.
