While celebrities seemingly have better things to do than being offended – or even moved – by comments made online or even IRL challenges, they often can’t help themselves. After all, it can be fun to interact with your fans!
The celebrities in this slide show found a couple of different ways to show fans they were listening and watching. From photobombing them in bars to sending snail mail and Tweets, these celebs showed they either had a sense of humor or were willing to stand up for themselves.

1. It’s alive
We’re just glad no one had a heart attack when Arnold Schwarzenegger decided to visit Madame Tussauds Wax Museum and stand in for his own wax figure just to scare people.
2. This plaque will do
But Bill Gates made sure he really had something to show his friends by appearing in the background of the photo.
NOW we believe him.
3. Wake up call
Once Obama saw him snoozing, he headed over to make sure he had a memento of his nap!
4. Date nights
He had a cardboard cut-out of her made and showed her around town.
Can you imagine?!
5. Always a jokester
But the actor decided not to let the kiddo cry alone.
And now the photo is really something to remember him by!
6. Fan mail
Not only do we love his stationary, we adore his sense of humor.
7. Free food
We hope he tipped well because rumor has it that he collected on that promise!
8. Co-starring The Rock
That would be our Christmas card every year for a decade if we had been so lucky.
And the actor’s expression is just epic.
9. Pratt prank
He happily obliged – it’s just that he either cropped her out of or blocked her face in every photo.
Guess the fans should have been more specific!
10. A pirate on the loose
While filming Pirates of the Caribbean, Johnny Depp decided to walk around Queensland one day in full garb.
Depp had been in some hot water for coming into the country without quarantining his two dogs first, so fans were a bit riled up when he happily posed with law enforcement.
11. The Rock strikes again
No harm was done, but The Rock likes to pretend he’s signing people’s heads when they ask him to sign their shirts.
And by the looks of it, this little fan was truly taken aback!
12. The ultimate troll
Actor Cole Sprouse is onto them.
In fact, he’s devoted an entire Instagram account to taking their photos as they try to take his!
13. Celeb on celeb trolling
She made it clear to Elon Musk and any fans reading that she expected to stop getting crap for that after he and his partner named their child X Æ A-12.
14. She’s not sweatin’ it
But the singer and cultural icon is telling them to hold off a little on the pressure.
Good things come to those who wait.
15. Ryan Reynolds wins the Internet
When a fan asked Ryan Reynolds to help him wish his wife a happy anniversary.
Angela. 11 years went by like a lemonade daydream. Words are too clumsy to express what your love means to Jason—which is probably why he had me say it for him. https://t.co/85OuBIC6Zy

16. Get it right
And she really went right for these mean girls, who we can only hope learned some kind of lesson as the real trolls in this situation.
No no… I tell him to touch me ~everywhere~ and then we eat Chinese food. Get your facts straight, Emily. https://t.co/DNd8oBegMA
— Lili Reinhart (@lilireinhart) September 19, 2018
17. Reinhart strikes again
It’s pretty clear who the winner is here.
Thank you so much for being concerned about my weight, I’ll respond later after I finish my double cheeseburger 😘 https://t.co/5FVhso3VOl

18. The Cropper
That’s true love.
19. Masterful
But he was a good sport – not just to look up but look up with just enough exasperation to let us know that he knows what’s happening here.
20. Aquaman blesses your marriage
Seriously, we’re jealous.
21. Celebrity drive-by comment
That fruit is making us jealous.
22. Welp, he wins
When this guy asked to take a photo with Fabio, the model went all in.
You know what’s sexy? A sense of humor.
23. When they go low…
Sure, it was a little dirty, but they started it!
24. Ballsy
And we’re pretty sure this is the kind of prank she was happy to be a part of.
25. Noted
She’s scrolling through Instagram giving a high-five to people empowering women.
Of course she doesn’t need validation, but she’ll be happy to joke about it.
26. Did he pull a Gyllenhaal?
If he REALLY wanted to be a troll, he could have done something rude. But he met the challenge with a head-on stare.
27. She makes an excellent point
Second, fully expect Cher to clap back if she bothers to acknowledge your existence at all.
She’s Cher, and she can type in all caps if she wants to.
IM NOT YELLING…
IM CHER👻— Cher (@cher) June 22, 2016
28. Mother knows best
SO embarassing!
And yet, mom’s right.
29. Jersey troll
Or perhaps we’re missing Snooki’s deft slight on the mom culture that requires moms to put an Etsy-fied number next to their babies to celebrate each month of life.
We kind of hope so, because that’s the only way the Post-It is funny, making Snooki the true troll here.
30. Hilaria-ous
We love a bit of sarcasm, especially from celebrities.
It shows they don’t take themselves too seriously.
31. Haters
But the fact that mom got on there to say she hated it AND that Dr. Phil randomly chimed in to agree was just too good.
Not THAT part we love.
32. Busted
I mean, it’s never happened to us, but we’re sure we’d be embarassed.
33. Twinning(ish)
But how does the little dog feel about this?
Me and my wife have recently come to the unsettling realization that @jtimberlake and @JessicaBiel are the better looking version of us. pic.twitter.com/WvG047fE6q

34. But are you famous?
One of the members of Fifth Harmony decided to troll her troll a few years ago. And the first troll went and deleted her account.
35. Jealous
Posting this amazing photo is the best way ever to troll your friends in the biggest feeling of FOMO ever.
36. Mom!
To be fair, we bet dad didn’t really love that photo.
37. Bombs away
We don’t know if they decided to take some new Chappelle-less photos, but we don’t see why they would. Who wants to see those?
38. A twofer
Luckily, Aaron Paul and Kellen Lutz weren’t in full troll mode.
We got photobombed by Aaron Paul (Jesse pinkman from breaking bad) at Coachella yesterday from r/funny
39. Ring a ling
But pointing out that they’re flaunting it seems a little petty.
Luckily, actress Sarah Hyland doesn’t mind being called out.
40. Keep it G-rated
We’re pretty sure most teens know mom and dad sleep in the same bed.
But Kelly Ripa admits to having an Instragram account for the sole purpose of trolling her kids anyway.
41. Hot coffee
We think she was probably looking for a sexier comeback, but she’s going to be waiting a while.
42. Hobbit style
He’s got the weight of the world on his shoulders carrying that ring and all. And while his fan can’t carry it for him, like Samwise, she can carry him.
43. Object of affection
Singer Kacey Musgraves shot right back and gave us all some good ammo to use in the process if anyone ever insults us like this.
44. Three’s a crowd
And since it’s a made-up word, there’s bound to be confusion.
Do you think this is a photobomb just because they weren’t expecting his expression?
45. The stuff of legend
As the original title reads: “My friend met Tom Hanks, stole his glasses and pretended to be wasted.”
We’re just surprised Hanks went along with it!
46. We have questions
Kind of a weird job to be a hot tub photographer.
47. Pandemic reminder
No one loves wearing them, but Demi Lovato just wants to make sure we don’t forget.
48. Someone find John Mayer a hobby
Ok, we can usually help ourselves, but celebs don’t have to since people seem honored to have them make even a snarky comment.
49. A different kind of hero
This sounds like a pretty trashy move to us (really, it sounds funny at first, but think about what this really involves).
Nevertheless, Spears wants to know what’s so bad about it.
Public intoxication, for starters.
50. The new queen of Twitter
It’s been quite a sight to see and she seems to be really enjoying trolling people. We can’t stop looking!
