While each region of the US is known for its own clothing “styles” (looking at you, cowboy hats and Texas), there are few things more synonymous with the deep south than camo! While camo is good for stalking a deer in the woods, it isn’t a catch-all clothing option like some people think it is!
In this makeover, we see a couple go from rural hunter to chich entrepreneur!
On the Rachel Ray Show, there is a special segment where they makeover a couple in a stunning way. In this edition of it, we see two outdoorsy southerners go from camo-clad to business chic. The results are SO surprising.
Brandon and Stacy are from Mount Pleasant, North Carolina, and desperately need a makeover.
This happy couple is in such dire need of a makeover because they are about to get married! Stacy isn’t super happy with their current looks, even if she admits they are utilitarian about them. They live an outdoorsy lifestyle and have the wardrobe to match.
Stacy has described their clothing as “blah”.
She admits that she doesn’t think they look bad, just boring! She is almost always found in a sweatshirt and jeans (there IS a time and place for the combo) but wants to switch up her look a bit. Her fiance, Brandon, is a bit different. He is constantly in camo and has a SUPER long beard that is just begging to be trimmed.
After getting to know them through a small backstory video, we can already get some ideas of where the designer wants to take the couple.
Clothing is an expression of you. Your habits, activities, and climate all go into helping you decide what you are going to wear! For these two, the right wardrobe will be essential, or they will just go right back to what they are most comfortable wearing!
When Rachel and Keyan finally get ready to show the makeover, everyone is holding their breath!
The crazy part is that they haven’t seen each other OR themselves! When they see their significant other, it will be the first time for both of them. After that, they will get to see themselves.
When the doors finally open, it’s shocking!
Brandon looks incredible! With a gray urban jacket, a plaid shirt, and jeans, he looks like he is going to have a nice drink with his friends at a good restaurant. Stacy is the biggest change out of the both of them, however.
Stacy’s hair and makeup has been completely redone!
Instead of her curly hair being held back in a ponytail, the designer teased it out to its full volume potential. The results are stunning. She went from everyday jeans and a sweatshirt to “about to close a business deal and have lunch with a client”. In a word, the couple looks 10x more sophisticated than they did before.
Rachel’s reaction is shocking!
She almost starts crying at how good she thinks the couple looks. She has been doing these for a long time and never loses the magic of the big reveal moment. When they see themselves, the shock on the couple’s faces is even more vivid than before! At the end of it, they are happy and delighted with their new looks! Good thing, too. They are about to get married!
