A multitude of classic films has always been in the roster of must-watch movies for cinephiles. Jumping from one genre to another, it is inevitable that there will be times when one would come across a masterpiece that is definitely hard to watch alone. Many would opt to arrange movie nights and invite their friends over. For others, they prefer to watch such films with their furry buddies.
This particular fur parent recently shared a hilarious video of her bulldog’s reaction to Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho and the viewers were so amused with the adorable pooch.
It’s a rare sight to see animals react to movies or shows being flashed right through TV screens. More often than not, these fur friends couldn’t care less about what you are watching. But when they do, they would definitely steal your attention away from the screen.
Anyone would agree that pets at home are known for being languid in front of the TV, but this bulldog named Khaleesi sees things differently as her eyes were glued to the screen when one of the most iconic scenes of the film started to play.
If you haven’t seen the film yet, beware of some spoilers ahead! The famous shower scene is considered as the highlight of the film where Marion Crane, played by Janet Leigh, is taking a shower when a silhouette gets near and stabs her to death.
It’s lauded as one of the most notable scenes in the history of cinema and even made Psycho a controversial hit during its time of release.
Little Khaleesi stares at the screen until the character of Marion starts to take a shower. Khaleesi then turns her face away from the TV and looks at her parent as if she knows what’s about to happen.
When scenes like this show up, some of us would cover our children’s eyes and look away, but it’s so adorable to see that even Khaleesi gets uncomfortable watching someone take a shower and knows how to give the woman in the film some privacy.
Her eyes were once again fixed to the screen when the killer arrives.
The moment the knife is revealed and Marion starts to scream, Khaleesi jumps into action! She suddenly gets on her feet and charges towards the screen, barking angrily at the killer and trying to save Marion.
Anyone who sees this moment wouldn’t help but fall in love with this courageous bulldog trying her best to rescue the victim.
Sadly, Khaleesi’s futile efforts didn’t change the tragic fate of the woman.
As Marion’s body falls to the ground, Khaleesi eventually gives up and retreats, watching closely as the story unfolds.
When everything starts to get quiet, she doesn’t seem affected as if nothing happened and resumes watching as her fascinated parent records from the side of the room.
The video which was uploaded to the Elvis and Khaleesi account has garnered tens of thousands of views. The channel features the antics of Khaleesi and her bulldog sibling, Elvis.
Elvis is nowhere to be found in the video since he was too scared to watch the movie and moved to the kitchen to hide during the shower scene while Khaleesi braved the horrific scene. She is such a true hero. Watch her cute reaction below!
